Argentina uses boxing match to spot tax dodgers

BUENOS AIRES, Argentina (AP) - Argentina's tax agency says it used a boxing match in Las Vegas to identify 17 tax evaders.

The agency released a statement Monday titled "A Knockout for Taxpayers."

It said it is investigating people who claimed to have small incomes while paying up to $7,500 each to travel to Nevada to watch Saturday's fight between world welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Argentine boxer Marcos Maidana.

The agency says those 17 people have since been removed from a list of low-income Argentines and must now pay taxes consistent with their large expenses. It says one also has a $150,000 Porsche.

The agency says it will now enforce stricter controls on Argentines attending sporting events abroad, including the soccer World Cup in Brazil that kicks off on June 12.

Here we go....Now obama will use this idea to get the drones out to look for Americans who aren't paying their fair share!! Start wil Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Colorado, San Francisco, Chicago and all of the wealthy liberal enclaves that the progressive 1%ers live and hang out!!

Might catch a few drug cartel members, pedos, liberal judges and politicians doing what they do, that they shouldn't do.....

The 1%ers aren't the liberals... they're the wealthy Conservatives seeking to block a raise in minimum wage, women's rights, healthcare and anything else that could benefit the rest of us... and the places to look for these tax dodging criminals is Washington DC, Texas, and the other hang outs of the ultra rich.

So how do these people live back home in Argentina ? I find it hard to believe wealthy folks only spend money when abroad. It sounds more like a multi Governmental eat the rich app, in testing.

In NC, state police put up signs on the highway warning of a drug and alcohol checkpoint ahead... on either side of a rural exit that has a normally low flow of traffic. The checkpoint was actually at the bottom of the exit and they netted hundreds of violaters in a single weekend who thought they were outsmarting the system.

Makes me think they need to randomly spot check the tax returns of those running for office... and don't given them the time to create phony papers ala Mitt Romney in 2012, (years of which he STILL hasn't producted). People like that don't deserve a term in office... they deserve a term in prison!

Not random, let auditors from the opposite party take on the politician tax return and get paid a percent of money recovered. make the representative defend the audit, not some lawyer. If he can't explain the write off he looses it. 546 members of congress, court, and the executive in jail for tax evasion would solve the irs problem the first year.

good for argentina.. they need to collect money from people, who owe it. let them use what ever technique they have to. Liars and cheaters will eventually get caught, by the tax collectors, police, or spouses, etc.... we all need to hold ourselves to a higher level of actions... proves liars and cheaters are everywhere
