Historic mansion is very cheap, but there's a catch

Historic Mansion Is Shockingly Cheap... But There's A Catch

A beautiful Victorian mansion outside of Chicago is on the market for an unbelievably low price, but there's a catch... it's haunted. The massive three story, 5,000 square foot red brick mansion is listed at $159,000, but it has a bit of a dark history. It was built in 1882 for Hiram B. Scutt, who held early patents for barbed wire, and paranormal investigators say he and his children haunt the home.

Adding to its history, back in 2004 a teenager was shot and killed in the Victorian mansion, and in 2007 another man died just months after purchasing the home. So buyers beware. Oh, did we mention there is a doll room. Yes, the third floor of the home is full of creepy china dolls.

It should be noted that the real estate agent had an energy reader look around, and they found the house was not haunted. Then again, why would the real estate reader say otherwise?

What a world of naive people, those of you who don't believe in ghosts. Ghosts are real but there are things that are worse.

Its easy to deny ghosts until you've encountered them....... seriously.........just have your best friend die in your house and see if their humor stops.....................

Buy it, turn it into a hotel, play up the haunted angle and make a mint.

They also failed to mention your massive heating and a/c bill every month. Wich I can imagine running upwards of 500.

$500 would be a bargain for heating/air in S.C. My 1600 sq. ft home, with a new HVAC system costs almost $300/month to heat (68 degrees) and cool (72 degrees).

I LOVE it! Looks like the Addams Family mansion! I would so live there...if I could even afford to heat and cool it!

Anne: That's exactly what it looks like. I kept looking at it and saying to myself that it looks familiar. I was thinking the Shady Rest Hotel from Petticoat Junction, but you're right...the Addams Family.
