Law would require changing tables in male restrooms

CA Lawmakers Push Bills Requiring Baby Changing Tables In Men's Restrooms

As the dynamics of the modern family evolve, California lawmakers are pushing two bills that require baby-changing tables in men's restrooms. Two bills mandating businesses to grant men equal access to changing tables have cleared the California State Senate Transportation and Housing Committee on Tuesday.

One of the bills proposes a changing station that is accessible to both men and women. The bill's sponsor told Fox News, "...traditional gender roles with women as the primary caregiver for the children are changing, and men are becoming more and more involved in the care of their young children. There are also a growing number of same-sex households with children."

The other bill requires changing tables in every men's and women's restroom in restaurants, movie theaters, shopping centers, and public facilities.

The proposed bills are a sign of progress, but they would force costly regulations on businesses and there is no certainty either will pass in the state senate.

More crap from CA. A sign of progress? Yeah, the progress of mental deficiency in CA lawmakers. Personally, I stay away from restaurants that cater to people who bring pooping babies to their tables.

Really! The public schools in CA are jokes. They get worse every year, no matter how much money is thrown at them. Democrats - who are worse in CA than nearly any other state - don't care about children's educations, but are more concerned about power and perks for their cronies (teacher's unions, etc.). This is more of their feel-good P.C. nonsense. They sure know how to hound, nag and pester the job creators, and NV, OR, AZ, UT and TX are happy to take them - and the tax revenues and decent employees they employ - while CA invites everyone on the planet to move in on the backs of everyone else. Pitiful state in serious decline!

They are everywhere in AZ. Just do it! Don't need to spend time and money making a law that is only common sense. Geez!

Because fathers are taking a greater child rearing role, will Courts stop automatically giving custody of the children to the mother when parents separate?

From what I hear about Calfornia, they can't afford to add new changing tables. They better work on their economy by not aubsidizing all the illegals who sneak up there.

why aren't our politicians working on ways to allow us more freedom to succeed in our struggle to make our own way and be able to pay the taxes they have already heaped upon us? Is this issue more important than addressing the state deficit problem, the lack of retirement funds, the medical problems brought about by the affordable! care act, or the mass of other problems faced by the public? Surely we can find a place to change the baby without government intervention! I hope!

I see nothing wrong with putting the tables in the men's rooms. I'm a woman and i know a few men that are single parents, and they should get everything that a woman gets.

Don't these lawmakers have anything better to do? Isn't there more important issues to deal with? Let the businesses decide what they want to do. It sounds like a new way for the government to make money on fines. These lawmakers are working for the taxpayers. The taxpayers are not working for the lawmakers.
