Hundreds of wild birds fill Calif. woman's home

You've heard of Alfred Hitchock's scary classic, 'The Birds.'

Well, what if a flock of birds did that to you? For one woman in California, that's happening - birds are swarming her house for no clear reason, and she's scared. She spoke with KMPH.

"You see the birds circling around the house before they fly down into the chimney."

"She walked home Friday to find nearly 70 birds flying around inside her living room."

"I screamed a couple of times because the birds are, you know."

Shirley Brown says she's seen hundreds of birds in her house - that this has been happening every single night around 8 pm, and she can't figure out why!

Especially because her house isn't the only one on the block with a chimney. It's a mystery why the birds are picking it, and not any of the others.

By the way the birds are apparently black swifts, which Smithsonian magazine describes as North America's most mysterious bird, saying they love to nest in "forbidding places" like behind waterfalls, so they're hard to study.

Or "forbidding places"...like people's houses.

Oh, and here's another headline calling them the "most mysterious bird" from "out of the shadows"...just to make you feel better.

Brown is being pretty chill about the whole thing though - she says she's guessing the birds are scared too, and hopefully they're just migrating and will be gone soon. Hopefully.
