Note found in Kurt Cobain's wallet mocks wedding vows to Courtney Love

SEATTLE (AP) -- A handwritten note police discovered in Kurt Cobain's wallet after his suicide disparages Courtney Love, the late Nirvana front man's wife.

CBS News reported that the note was taken from Cobain's wallet when police arrived at his home on April 8, 1994, after Cobain fatally shot himself. The note was never made public. CBS obtained it from the Seattle Police via a public information request.

The network reports that the undated note, apparently written by Cobain on stationery from San Francisco's Phoenix Hotel, is written like a mock wedding vow. It references Love as Cobain's "lawful shredded wife" who would be "siphoning" his money for drugs.

Cobain's body was discovered in Seattle on April 8, 1994. An investigation determined that days earlier Cobain had gone into the greenhouse of his home and taken a massive dose of heroin. He then shot himself with a 20-gauge shotgun.

Earlier this year, in advance of the 20th anniversary of Cobain's suicide, a Seattle detective reviewed the case files, including evidence photos and statements. He found no new information to change the police conclusion that Cobain took his own life.

Cobain, who was 27 when he died, sold millions of albums with Nirvana and helped popularize the Pacific Northwest's heavy, muddy "grunge" rock.

Sooner or later people will realize that Nirvana sucked and Cobain was a no-talent loser.

Please keep your opinions to yourself. So I guess the Beatles sucked and John Lennon was a loser too? What about Tupac? Biggie? Jim Morrison? Jimmy Hendricks? It is not right to judge others. Only God can judge us. Yes, maybe Cobain made a poor decision getting involved with Courtney Love, but at least he left behind a beautiful daughter to live his legacy. He was a true talent and song writer and musician. He created a sound and style of music that was unique and when you listen to Nirvana the music enters your soul because it was so creative and one of a kind. Manic Depression is a serious mental condition and people do not know what it is like to live being depressed on a daily basis. It is not his fault that he lacked certain brain chemicals and that he felt that way. of course, drugs and rock 'n' roll does not help the condition, but at least he fulfilled his dreams as becoming one of the most pronoun artists of his time and era. When he died, grunge also died with him. RIP KC.

Um.............that poster said "sooner or later people will realize that Nirvana sucked and Cobain was a no-talent loser." What does that have to do with The Beatles and John Lennon? What does it have to do with Hendrix and Morrison, or Biggie and Tupac?

BTW...Hendrix and Morrison died of drug overdoses.
Tupac and Biggie were killed in 'gangsta rap' revenge violence.

John Lennon was assassinated by a deranged fan.

Only Cobain committed suicide.

Wow! There was a note and there's an article about it. So,.....I clicked on it and the article doesn't say what the note said except for one phrase: 'lawful shredded wife.'

Oh freeking boy, AOL. Thanks for the outstanding reporting.

It's so typical of AOL. Actually, this is more informative than some of crap they tease you with. Usually, they use the term 'shocking' and it never is.
