'The Voice' panel will look a bit different next season

Gwen Stefani Officially Joining Next Season Of 'The Voice'
On "The Voice," Carson Daly made a very special announcement.

CARSON: "This all just happened moments ago 'cause we're live, and we're very happy to officially announce that two music superstars will be joining the next season in these coaches chairs... Pharrell Williams and Gwen Stefani will be added to the voice family..."

Carson also announced that both artists will performing on next week's episode -- so we can get a little taste of what it'll be like to have them around next season.

Pharrell Williams and NBC both confirmed he was joining the show about a month ago, but we hadn't seen an official confirmation from Gwen Stefani...

Until tonight. The No Doubt frontwoman posted this picture on Instagram to coincide with the announcement on the show.

The big news comes more than a week after rumors started that the singer was in early talks to replace Christina Aguilera, who'll be sitting out next season because of her pregnancy.

It's believed that Stefani was debating between "The Voice" and ABC's just-announced music competition "Rising Star," which premieres this summer.

I am so sad if you take away any of the 4 coaches there this year. They are awesome together and add such chemistry. It is so much more than just people singing. Leave alone what is working. Are you trying to reinvent the wheel.

I think the combination that is there now, Usher, Shakira, Blake and Adam are perfect. Why mess with such a winning combo? Their personalities mesh so well and make the show extremely enjoyable. I don't think Gwen or Pharell will have the same affect on the audience as Usher and Shakira. I say to leave well enough alone.

agreed, theses 4 judges make the show what it is. they are fun to watch and look like they really care about the contestants. it will be a big mistake to let any of them go. I don't think Pharell or Gwen have their personalities.

I totally agree, the 4 judges we have now make this show the best. I think they should leave it alone.

Why do they mess around with a show that is already great? Adam, Shakira, Usher and Blake are the best!!! if two new people are coming in? who is leaving? Shakira is head and shoulders better than Christina ever was ....down to earth and for real.....Christina's make up artists must take days to get all that hair and mae-up on her,....pay attention ....Shikira by comparison is for real and a much much better talent. Leave the show alone!!!!!

Refer to my above comment (#5). Shakira's leaving due to pregnancy.

I think Shakira is a better judge but Cristina's the better singer by far.

Perhaps, but Shakira seems very real and has a lot of heart - Christina is all about 'me, me, me.

To start with, Christina Aguilera is not a current coach on "The Voice".
Secondly, the article says Gwen Stefani & Pharrell Williams will be judges next year, but only mentions one current judge leaving. Does that mean that there will be 5 judges, or has Adam Levine gone beyond "thinking about leaving" to devote his efforts elsewhere, as reported elsewhere on the internet?

they should leave it alone. The judges on the show now make it. I watch it because of them.
Why do they have to mess it up.Is usher , Blake and Sharira going to stay?

It will be Adam, Blake & the 2 new judges.

The judges have other things to do & have some say in whether or not they want to be on the show every year.

They can tinker all they want with the judges but the ratings show that the only judges the people care about are Adam/Shakira/Usher/Shelton. All the other judges are lousy, including Aguilera and C-Lo. Why bother messing with success when you have the chemistry that these four have? Adam and Blake are like two teenagers messing with each other (but in a funny way). Usher is a class act all the way around. Shakira is the "real thing". Sincere, honest, talented, and did I mention funny too? It is what it is.
