Little kid's laugh steals the show at hockey game

Jordin Tootoo Gives Delighted Young Fan His Hockey Stick

A little boy was thrilled to pieces when Grand Rapids hockey star Jordin Tootoo not only said hi to the young fan, but also gave him something pretty neat.

'What's up, buddy? It's all yours!,' he said as he handed the boy his hockey stick.

'He'll have that stick forever, by the way, and we're told that player Jordin Tootoo, the guy who gave him that stick, has a real tough guy reputation, which is needed when your last name is Tootoo.'

We don't know the name of the little boy in the video, but CBS and other outlets kept pointing out the same thing: the boy's laugh.

'And that laugh, it's almost maniacal and evil in a way but is so dang infectious, a laugh of pure joy. You can't help but smile. Hockey players still rule.'

HLN credited the video with bringing out the kiddo in all of us.

'That's a laugh that you just want to bottle up and put in your pocket.'

Well done, Tootoo - that boy will be your fan for life.

I have to admit, it wasn't evil-sounding, but I only heard about 2 seconds of it. The rest of the "news" covered most of the time it played.

It is very fun, and it made me grin. But many parents know that little kids will deliberately learn a laugh that amuses THEM, copying it from a TV or movie character. It could have been completely his own, of course, but it also may not have been. Either way I'm glad I heard it, in the midst of a bad day.

Oh, hockey players are often wonderful. I used to live in the same building as Wayne Gretsky years ago, and we had to stop having co-op meetings in the lobby, because he was always identified by someone walking past, and then before we knew it there would be a mob out front trying to get in. He was notoriously good natured.

maybe the little boy reminded him of when he and his bro were little guys, he lost his bro Terence, what a nice gesture and one little boy sure is happy!

That gesture by Tootoo reminds me of the Mean Joe Green Coke commercial. Except, this was for real. and that little boy will remember it forever. His laugh was indeed infectious, but I would in no way call it evil. It was evil to even characterize it that way! Shame on whoever did it!

Someone else pointed this out . Jordin, I believe had a twin brother who died at an early age. Maybe when he looked at this young boy it did remind him of something special. Anyway, again it shows no matter how some act on the ice. When they are off it 99% of hockey players are the best professional Athletes in the world. How cool was that to see. Great stuff... Go Tootoo.....
