Cops: Boy in knife attacks wrote chilling note

Disturbing Note Found In School Stabbing Suspect's Locker

PITTSBURGH (AP) -- Police say the Pennsylvania boy accused of stabbing 21 high school classmates wrote a note saying he couldn't wait to see the "helpless looks" on students' faces when they realize "their precious lives are going to be taken."

Police say the note was found in Alex Hribal's locker. They say it was dated April 6, three days before the rampage at Franklin Regional High School near Pittsburgh.

The details about the note are contained in a new criminal complaint filed Friday against Hribal that increases the number of attempted homicide charges he faces to 21, up from four.

The complaint also reveals what Hribal allegedly told the vice principal who tackled him: "My work is not done, I have more people to kill."

Two of the 21 wounded students remain hospitalized.

I say, first look at the family and find out what kind of family life he had. Delve deep. Find out if he had mental problems that were ignored. Obviously this kid had built up rage. Did kids at school make fun of him? Was he a loner to start with? Those kind of questions should be asked. I hope they send him to a mental institution that deals with kids like these. I'm glad they got him out of school and off the streets before he actually killed someone. Also, he could of grown up to be a serial killer. They need to keep him locked up, no matter what, he would do this again, except he'd plan better and really kill people!

These things just dont happen. There are signs. Remember being a parent is the most important job on earth. I didnt say the easiest or most fulfilling just simply the most "important".

Snott Peterson had decent lovong parents who raised other perfectly normal kids yet he murdered his pregnant wife in cold blood. So save the defense lawyer psychobabble for some1 else. ♣

There needs to be more attention on mental health problems. There is very little help and so many people running around everyday with mental issues and just ready to go off. I spent a lot of time trying to get my son help I finally got him in a 24-7 supervised place only for them to months later tell him because of his good behavior he can go out 6 hrs a day unsupervised WHAT? Now they are looking at putting him in a 16 hr place and when I asked why they said unless he does something the insurance won't pay for him to be in a 24 hr place. So basically until he hurts himself or somebody he is out there with no supervision. Makes sense right? Then ya wonder why these things keep happening. Cant always blame the parents or the home life. Sometimes the person just needs help and cant get it

What good are the "bans" on any weapon doing? No one pays attention to them! They get the weapon and use them...

Is it really such a mystery? He's a scrawny, acne-scarred little dweeb who hungered to feel powerful and to be feared. We have channels on television that literally show nothing but the crimes and exploits of people who commit all kinds of heinous crimes ranging to first degree murder, serial murder, rape, child molestation, racketeering, murder-for-hire. These programs make pop stars out of these criminals, and God knows that the social media covers them incessantly, and the more lurid the details, the better. That's "good" television these days. Any publicity is good publicity. Just look at Kim Kartrashian. She's carved a multi-million dollar fortune from a single amateur sex tape. She can't sing. She can't dance. She can't act. She's as shallow as a teaspoon, and the the media fawns all over her every time she farts. "Ohhhh! Look at what Kim is wearing today!" "Ohhh, look at the racy photo that Kim tweeted today!" We have all kinds of people behaving badly, and what does it get them? A television show and a hefty paycheck, all for being nothing more than a low-class, self-absorbed moron. I have very little doubt that Alex Hribal anticipated all of the recognition and media coverage that he would garner as a result of his crimes, very little doubt at all.

When I was in high school back in the mid 2000's, I would constantly see the entitled spoiled brats cheat their way through school, while bullying, and making fun of the ones who were actually trying and either failing or not doing so good.

And the worst part is that these entitled little punks are the ones who end up with good jobs while zipping around recklessly in their BMW's, because they "graduated".

It's no wonder to me why this kid went nuts, because I can only imagine what high school is like these days.

Sadly that type of behavior is present in our middle schools and even elementary schools.

You can't be certain this kid's parents aren't good parents.

It would be interesting if the "experts" (who are unable to provide answers except in sociospeak) would compare all facets of life during the 40's and 50's to life today.

Like the song says, "Teach your children well...." People, we have got to teach our children that this type of behavior will not be tolerated. It starts when they are 2 and 3 yrs. old. If they do not receive respect in their homes and accountability for their actions why should something like this be so shocking?

If you plant a young tree and do not support it as it grows, there is no possible way you are going to straighten that tree years down the road when it is growing crooked. If you don't get the analogy then you are as lost as the children who are growing up without good guidance.

In our generation parents took the time to teach us right from wrong...from the 80s on they just sit them in front of the TV or computer, or video game console and go off to "do their own thing".

Parents need to pay closer attention to the kid needs and problems. Like the kid in Newtown there were warning signs that parents ignored. Covering up and ignoring mental health issues of your children is dangerous not only to the child but people around them. When kids act out or get into trouble parents need to be proactive not just protective. The not my kid attitude is the worst thing a parent can do.

Sadly, we all have helped (conciously, or unconciously), create incipient monsters, some like this poor duffus. Bullying is often a factor, but somehow, many midteens already feel like losers, and self isolate, growing more and more apart from their peers and society, inviting bullying, and distancing by others. I can't believe no one noticed. Certainly paying him no attention could have also helped to make him the 'other'.
