Fla. Man Pulls 13-Foot Hammerhead Onto Shore

When it comes to fishing, there are big catches, there are 'take a few pictures and show them off to family' catches, then there's this one out of Florida, shown here by WSVN.

21-year-old Ryan Bolash was caught pulling in a 13-foot hammerhead shark.

"It's a lot of adrenaline running through your body," he said.

Bolash, seen here in this spectator video by WPGL, guided the shark toward shore Monday after it got hooked on a friend's fishing line in Lauderdale-by-The-Sea.

Coming close to a shark that size is extraordinary, but Bolash's reason for getting so close is even wilder.

He told reporters he needed to get right up on the 13-foot hammerhead, like this one documented by Discovery, to cut the fishing line as close to its mouth as possible.

For relief, so the long line wouldn't get caught on something and hurt the shark. He told WKMG:
Bolash: "They're an amazing creature and I don't know why anyone would want to hurt them."

Bolash did get some scratches while handling the shark, but he's got a pretty decent story to go along with them.
