Royals get Aboriginal gifts in Australian Outback

SYDNEY (AP) - Britain's Prince William and his wife, Kate, received a traditional Aboriginal welcome to the Australian Outback on Tuesday.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge visited the tiny town of Yulara, near the bright red sandstone monolith Uluru, also known as Ayers Rock.

Members of a local Aboriginal community performed a traditional song and dance for the royal couple at a cultural center. Locals presented the pair with gifts of jewelry and a wooden spear, and William and Kate presented certificates to students graduating from an indigenous training academy.

Later, the Duke and Duchess watched the sun set over Uluru.

William, Kate and baby Prince George are on a three-week tour of New Zealand and Australia.

they're young and they're a good looking couple. They are a lot nicer to people than the queen is. Prince william took a selfie with a random girl Nice of him to do. Not even most celebrities do that. They're fun to watch and look at their pictures.

Has it occurred to anyone saying that they are living on the backs of the British taxpayers, that the British taxpayers revere the royal family? I read that 69 percent think the country would be worse off without the monarchy.

I think that Diana did a wonderful job raising her sons. They are fine young men that serve as a good example to other young people. We here in the US tend to idolize role models that leave a LOT to be desired.

I am very happy for William and Kate and baby George. It is very evident that William and Kate love each other and adore their darling baby. I'm glad to see him so happy after the devastating death of him beloved mother.

Since we here in the US are not supporting the royal family I find it interesting that a lot of the comments are anti-royal family. I think that they add a certain mystique to the UK that we are missing here in the US. We have no one to look up to but celebrities here in the US and most of them neither deserve or appreciate it.

I love this family and wish them many more happy years. It will be interesting to see how baby George grows up.

Yes!!! and she would have loved Kate; both beautiful women; I can just see them going shopping together, or going out to lunch together; I think they would have been good friends. Too sad she did not get to see baby George; he is gorgeous too.

What needs to go away even more are the people who use the word "haters".
