New York Mets upper management threw some high heat at Matt Harvey today, when the rehabbing phenom posted a comical Twitter photo of him flipping the bird.

On the six-month anniversary of his Tommy John procedure, the right-handed ace tweeted "I can't believe it's been 6 months already. #tommyjohn" and included a photo of himself laying in a hospital bed in October, while raising his middle finger.

Shortly thereafter, the tweet disappeared, as did his entire Twitter account, which had more than 100,000 followers.

According to an ESPN report, the Mets confirmed requesting the deletion of the tweet because it contained a potentially offensive gesture. The team also said that the decision to delete the account belonged to Harvey.

ESPN.com's Adam Rubin also said Harvey admitted his mother took the photo going into surgery and he thought it was 'funny.'
