US: Pictures indicate Russian troops in Ukraine

New Photos Link Russian Special Forces To Ukraine Protesters

By LARA JAKES
AP National Security Writer

WASHINGTON (AP) -- The State Department has released images of soldiers in eastern Ukraine that it says are Russian forces, showing militants wearing similar uniforms and brandishing Russian weapons.

The pictures mark the latest effort by the West to prove that Moscow is using its military to stir unrest in Ukraine.

A copy of the 11-page State Department document was given to reporters.

It includes pictures captioned as "concerned citizens" in Crimea and the city of Slovyansk who are dressed the same and carrying the same kind of RPG-26 rocket launchers that are issued to Russian troops.

There was no way to immediately verify the photographs, which were either taken from the Internet or were given to the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe last week by Ukraine diplomats.

hey Joe! go and tell them to beat off the Russians with a shotgun...yanno, like we are supposed to use. I have no understanding why Obama sent the Administration Clown to the Ukraine. Meh, appears on second look to be one clown sending another. Think the whole Clown Cabinet can go in one Clown Car? LOL

The situation in Ukraine needs to be carefully looked at and see how best it can be resolved. The Russian Government needs to be clear in this crisis. I believe seriously that Russia is seeking the addition of her territory. The entire World should pressurize Russia diplomatically to withdraw her forces from Ukraine and let peace prevail. This should be done now so as to avoid further bloodshell.

Russia, Ukraine and Belarus will unite. They were together for centuries. We should be happy that Communism was defeated in there and allow the right of self-determination to the people of former Soviet territories. Some were happy to leave the Russians, others weren't. They were never asked and now we hear from them.

I am rooting for pro-Russian side. Ukrainian Nationalists and neo-Nazis can go to hell. Ukrainian Nationalists sided with Hitler during the WWII and now trying to rewrite history.

The Russians have undocumented forces that covertly entered a soverign country in order to effect political change and the US goes street rat crazy. Millions of undocumented entrants infiltrate the US, register to vote and the government does nothing. get real.

OK. Enough . Petition Obama to activate or draft the Peaceniks from the '60s and '70s and sent them to Russia to protest for peace just the way they did when we were in South Vietnam.

Take note. Putin issued many of these people Russian passports. So you have a lack immigration policy where your country is full of other country nations, who instead of returning to their home/chosen country decide to take your country. Maybe Ukraine needs to rethink their immigration policies. And maybe the US needs to examine ours.
