New Jersey's Christie named a Father of the Year

TRENTON, N.J. (AP) - New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie has been named a Father of the Year by the National Father's Day/Mother's Day Council.

The Republican governor has four children ranging from ages 10 to 20. He often talks about them in public.

Christie has joked that having dinner with all of them has given him experience in being yelled at, and he has boasted about having a rare family - one without video games.

Christie attracted scrutiny in 2011 when he used a state police helicopter to fly to his son Andrew's baseball game. He repaid the cost.

The other honoree so far this year is shoe designer Vince Camuto.

Over the years, most of the honorees have been well-known. This list includes former President Bill Clinton and professional basketball star Shaquille O'Neal.

Surprising that there hasn't been a major class action lawsuit for those who might have been wronged by the closure. There has been lots of speculation about first responders being trapped in traffic, etc., yet I have yet to read about any unemployed lawyers grabbing a hold of this one.

He is the best thing to happen to New Jersey in years. If the media would put some effort into portraying the Democrats for who they REALLY are instead of trying to make Christie look bad every week maybe this country would be in better shape.

How come the investigation into Christie was more important than the investigation into Benghais (I know I spelled it wrong, didn't want to take time to look correct spelling up) wanted to get this out. Think there should be investigation into the President and his cohorts!!

Pass the bread because he comes the baloney. There are so many Dads in NJ that tow the line and pull up hill everyday working at hard labor and difficult jobs so that they can pay NJ STATE INCOME TAXES, PROPERTY TAXES, INSURANCES, GAS TAXES etc. All so the elite class can ride in their limos, fly to various places in style to campain for higher offices, and eat like piggies.

Not yet, because pleasing the fifth, and obstructing the investigation has prevented the truth from surfacing. But soon, the truth will be exposed for all to see. Even you.

The only people that scrutinized Christie was MSNBC because he is a threat to Mrs. Clinton.

don't you think all politicans are scrutinized? if the Golden Gate bridge was shut down to a craw for four days do you think gov. brown would not be on it ASAP about what the blank was going on! as a gov. to say "I know nothing" just doesn't make sense.

It wasn't shut down, it was less lanes and no he wouldn't. Look at work going on in many cities including here in Vegas, roads being redone can be one lane for weeks. I am not a Christie fan by any means, but the way we attack people until we know the facts is crazy. Then with certain people when we know the facts do nothing. Interesting.
