Families of missing Malaysia Airlines passengers to receive more aid

Families Of Missing Malaysia Flight To Receive More Aid
It's been more than six weeks since a Malaysia Airlines jet went missing over the Indian Ocean, and with no sign of the plane's whereabouts, the Malaysian government is planning for the next step.

In a briefing Sunday, the Malaysian Deputy Foreign Minister discussed plans for financial compensations with the families of the missing passengers. CBC notes the official also said the government is preparing to issue death certificates.

According to The Malaysian Insider, those certificates would help the families handle bank matters such as mortgages and car loans that are in the missing passengers' names.

The details of the financial plans remain unclear, but Bernama reports they will be discussed further Monday when the next-of-kin will propose a monetary amount Malaysian Airlines will consider for a trust fund.

CNN reports it will be the second round of such aid since the incident in an attempt to ease tensions between the government and the families who have been critical of the handling of the investigation.

Meanwhile, a U.S. Navy submarine drone began its eighth mission in searching for any signs of the missing plane.

It has scoured half of the targeted search area within a 6-mile radius where several pings have been detected in the Indian Ocean west of Australia, but it has yet to uncover any solid evidence about the plane's disappearance.

BBC reports the drone's mapping of the sea floor should be completed next week, but if nothing is found, the search area might be broadened.

As many as 11 military aircraft and 12 ships from different countries have aided in the search effort.

Hello Dear!! April 20 2014 at 5:37 PM

I don't get your line of reasoning==the depth of this plane is so deep and the currents so strong there is no comparison==Think Indian Ocean vs the Atlantic? Yep. There you go.

This is ridiculous. The US, China, Australians... watch this area like a hawk! And to pretend that they don't know the plane's track is pure BS...!!! Somebody's not talking...!!! But, Why???

You're right. Someone is not talking. But, let's pretend, for the sake of argument, that the plane was hijacked and has landed in another country whose intentions are to use it against the U.S.,Israel or whomever. Do you have any idea what kind of hysteria and fear that would incite worldwide?? Officials are not going to release information that the plane was taken; if it did crash in the ocean as the result of some nefarious conspiracy; that Freescale was somehow involved, politics and government cover ups and let's not forget those who believe aliens are at fault, .....It's all conjecture and speculation. We may NEVER know the hows and whys. It's all been one huge smoke screen. I am personally so sad for the loved ones who have lived in agony over this whole thing. May God bring them peace.

My cousin's friend's son was on that plane. His family accepts that the plane crashed and that their son is dead and they never thought of compensation. They are privately grieving the tragedy.

The body language of all these commenting on this plane disappearance is so odd.
They all are so uptight. They are rigid and non blinking. Their speech is stilted.
They stand as if someone is in the wings holding a gun on them an they have
a red dot on their backs.

what are they all hiding????

The people of Malaysia need to kick out their lying officials and politicians. They were handed a real snow job. So sad for the families who lost their loved ones for God only knows what kind of corporate or governmental corruption or thievery.

How about a big hand for those Malaysians? They're going to help all those folks who have lost friends and relatives aboard their airplane. I'm sure that will be a big comfort.

Unfortunately banks and loan companies won't wait for as long as it takes to settle accounts. The families will be grieving for a long time but this will relieve some of that kind of pressure now.

Something stinks real bad with this whole fiasco, it seems like everything is being handled by shoddy and inept investigators that come up with nothing but assumptions , guessing and theories.
And the families have to be emotionally tortured waiting day after day for solid answers.
