Judge loses his temper during sentencing

Judge Tells Killer: 'I Hope You Die In Prison'

A Michigan judge did not hold back his feelings during a sentencing hearing Wednesday. A smile and outburst from a convicted killer sent a Michigan judge, as you can see, flying off the handle.

Judge John McBain was filmed saying, "You gutted him like a fish in that apartment. You were relentless. ... I agree with the family. I hope you die in prison as well. You know, if this was a death penalty state, you'd be getting the chair."

He lost his cool immediately after he saw Camia Gamet rolling her eyes and snickering while her victim's family was on the stand.

Fox News reports in March, Gamet was convicted of stabbing her boyfriend, Marcel Hill, to death in 2012. While Gamet stated she was just defending herself, Hill's family testified she had stabbed him previously and had a history of violence.

According to CBS, Gamet was back in court this week to determine if she could be eligible for parole, the possibility of which quickly went out the window after her behavior in the courtroom.

ABC spoke with McBain, who says he doesn't regret what he said.

"Sometimes judges are required to take firm and definite steps to get control of the proceedings. ... to make the person standing in front of them understand the full accountability of their actions," he said.

But this isn't McBain's first time telling someone they're going to die in prison.

A writer for The Huffington Post points out that McBain told another convict last year, "You are going to die in the Department of Corrections. I have no doubt you will appeal for many years, but ultimately you are going to die."

McBain sentenced Gamet to life in prison without parole, the mandatory sentenced for the crime she committed.

Good going judge,I wish every state had the death penalty in this case it would have been the right thing to do. And all the others what difference can it make kill out side or in prison ,happens all the time. They laugh at the justice system they know you can't kill them.Lets buck up man up and kill everyone on death row,no appeals, once convicted pull the swicht, push the needle get it over with I'M SICK OF THESE PEOPLE AND SO ARE THE FAMILYS OFF THE VICTIMS!

Good for the Judge. We need more like him. We have become to soft on criminal justice system. We as a society need to change, and let the judges uphold the law and make individuals accountable for their actions, not what the various groups say or feel. Do the crime, do the time, not he/she was a good person and adminiter a reduced sentence.

Too bad the judge could not immediately have her put to death via hanging. These prisoners that know they cannot be put to death would think twice about committing the crime if the death sentence were available. We are much too lenient in this country about the death penalty, whereas decades ago this type of crime would have resulted in the death sentence, and a hundred years ago the sentence would have been carried out immediately.

Alright for this judge, it's about time, he is human being, like lots of us, do u know what that monster did? She killed with a filet knife 12 times, if you slice someone once, it would be e.enough to stop him, no she wanted him to suffer and showed no remorse. Prison is to good for her..I am sick of hearing people getting out of jail and committing crimes again and again. We need to find away to deal with trash like her..I hope she suffers a cruel long time. She had no right to take another's life. She is lucky she lives her and not another country..she would be stoned, hanged, shot or ?

Yes, I also applaud the judge..How can someone sit there snickering and rolling her eyes, after having taken a life. Noone but god has that right...This is a rare case where her punishment will justify her crime...I like this Judge, hes obviously a no SH*T guy...I'd like to see someone like him in the white house...Im sorry for the familys loss of their son...what this poor fat slob, the murderess, doesnt realise, is that a little remorse would have been good for her soul. Now she has a hell filled eternity to look forward to, after her life in prison is over.

I certainly hope this fat *itch suffers terribly in prison. Of course, the Huffington Puffington Post is showing its true liberal/bleeding heart colrs by accusing this judge of similar comments in the past.

It is a very difficult position for a judge to make any decision in cases like this but he made the right one here. I hope the families can find peace. Most times I wonder why the person who could do something like this does not get the same done to them. There should be a limit as to how long someone can live on our dime in prision. The death penalty should be in every state. And a limit as to how long anyone can live until it is carried out. The victim is gone and the criminal can go on living for years and years. I don't get it.
