POLICE: BLAST IN NIGERIAN CAPITAL KILLS 71
By BASHIR ADIGUN

Apr. 14, 2014 8:00 AM EDT
ABUJA, Nigeria (AP) - Police say an explosion that ripped through a busy bus station in Nigeria's capital has killed at least 71 people and wounded 124.

Police spokesman Frank Mba says Monday's blast destroyed 16 luxury coaches and 24 minibuses.

There was only believed to be one blast with secondary explosions as vehicle fuel tanks ignited and burned.

Reporters saw rescue workers and police gathering body parts as ambulances rushed the wounded to the hospitals.

There was no immediate claim for the rush-hour blast, though the Boko Haram terrorist network has been threatening to attack the capital.

The Islamic extremists, based in northeast Nigeria, carried out a 2011 suicide car bombing at the United Nations office building in Abuja that killed at least 21 people and wounded 60.

Goodluck-Badluck Jonathan, has turned out, as I predicted, to be the WEAKEST president, Nigeria ever had. Since her independence from britain in 1960 (britain with small b), because they are the perpetrators of Nigeria's problems, Nigeria has NEVER known good and strong leadership. The British amalgamated three distinct peoples into a country knowing fully well that they are like water and oil that could never mix. They left the country undeveloped, stripped her of all her treasures and left corruption as a norm.
My question to Nigerians is, with all their education, travels, abundant natural and human resources, why can they not, for sixty years, find good people to lead them out of darkness? Aren't they ashamed that they still live in oppression where a few people constantly recycle themselves over and over and over in weak leadership, robbing the country blind? When will the people rise up and declare that enough is enough and take back their country? Why is it that Nigerians are not lassoing with the United States, instead of britain, to develop Nigeria , build its electricity system so that industries will return and jobs will start coming back? For Nigeria to move ahead; develop, have peace, have security, she must divorce herself from the Great Britain. And that is the first step, period!!!

I believe they have begun on that path as you've described, because their constitution is now based on the U>S's. However, as more, and more American educated Nigerians begin to assert themselves in their country we will begin to see such break-away.

Judging from your English, you either come from a non-English-speaking foreign country or were educated in Washington, DC, where we spend an incredible $47,000 per pupil per year.

Let's not forget how Europe was a bloody continent for over 100 years. A century of war, and they were not colonized. No outsider decimated the continent of Europe but themselves. In terms of African development let's understand the raping of that continent, notwithstanding the trillions of dollars that flow out of Africa into western coffers yearly with little in exchange going back to Africa. Remove your blindfolded stereotypical trite off the 400 years of unjustifiable propaganda against Black people in general, and you will come to realize that the realm of your thinking is out of the reality about Africa, and Africans. Simply because you are caught between ignorance, and any collegiality towards Africa, outside the superficialities with Blacks anywhere. What did you do when you found out that the Africans indeed had no tails-------Did you then embrace them or did you find a way to exploit them?

How many lives have to be sacrificed by Boko Haram terrorist group before our lame duck President takes charge of the situation? He has not even for once, visited these bombing locations to show that he cares. He is more concerned about his own life and about rigging the forth coming 2015 election. This is the worst President Nigeria has ever produced. During Obasanjo's administration, this sort of cowardly acts by Boko Haram would never have been dreamed about, let alone, carried out. NIGERIA/NIGERIANS DESERVE BETTER! Let's make sure that this incompetent weakling never wins another term. We should not be consumed by tribal sentiments, but rather we should elect the best suited person for the whole Nigeria no matter what part of Nigeria he or she may come from.

Try Football...rather that a religion - worship in College Cathedrals of 100,000 plus. Don't remember football fans ever, no matter how nuts, using car bombs...:)
