Nevada rancher says US may have damaged his cows

RENO, Nev. (AP) - A Nevada rancher says he's trying to determine whether federal agents damaged any of his cattle before they released hundreds of rounded-up bovines in a showdown with angry protesters over the weekend.

Bureau of Land Management Director Neil Kornze says the agency released the cattle to avoid a potentially violent situation in a decades-long dispute over states' rights and grazing on public lands. He says Cliven (KLEYE'-vihn) Bundy owes more than $1 million in grazing fees for trespassing on federal lands since the 1990s.

The BLM suspended the roundup Saturday after armed militia members joined hundreds of states' rights protesters at the scene.

Nevada Assemblywoman Michele Fiore says she fears some of the calves that were seized won't survive because they were separated from their mothers.

I wonder what would happen if one day I was in Bunkerville and I refused to pay federal tax on a pack of cigarettes? Would store owner say ok and deduct the tax? Dont think he would. If I decided to go 2nd amendment route would he call Sheriff? Yep. Would Sheriff tell store owner to deduct tax or would he throw my ass in jail? Pretty sure I would be needing a very good lawyer

Wonder what Bundy would have to say if somebody truck in a thousand head of cattle and turned them loose on that same free grazing land!

Now you can see why the Ukraine doesn't want to be part of Russia. The heavy hand.

Are we to become another Ukraine? Where whoever shows up with the most weaponry and troops wins the "war"? Where every rancher doesn't have to obey laws because he has Big Guns and friends who will shoot to protect his cattle? He admits he owes thousands in grazing fees for use of public land over the last TWENTY YEARS. The courts have ordered him to pay up and he has no respect for the "rule of law". What's next? You going to condone this?

Feds picking the large low hanging fruit (1 million). O.K. if they would be as aggressive and persistent in going after the millions avoiding income tax that are in the trillion dollar per year underground economy. They only pay sales tax when they spend their ill gotten incomes. And defraud the IRS when filing by reporting false incomes. So they can get tax credits and refunds and continue to qualify for all kinds of welfare. They triple dip the current divisive overly complex tax system. They avoid having income taken from their checks. Consume taxes by making fraudulent claims to the IRS and welfare. And the pursuit to find them, fine them, and incarcerate them consumes taxes. We need a flat State and Federal income tax on purchases, collected at time of purchase. Nobody escapes it. Still help those that need it, but they must earn it. By keeping all their job search records, income and expenditure records, and personally checking in each quarter to qualify for a continued handout. But when they spend the handout (income) given to them by taxpayers via a government welfare agency, it will be taxed as income when they spend it. Our current tax consuming complicated tax system divides us. The 50% not paying tune out of added taxation. When we all pay, nobody will tune out. A flat tax on purchases, paid at time of purchase, that nobody escapes, will unite us to fight those wanting more taxes. And it will collect more taxes. Like the taxes not collected from the trillion dollar per year underground economy.

And just how do you know that the Feds only go after the "low lying" fruit?

Fact if the matter is that the only reason we have heard of this man is because of his guns, militia and threats of Waco like consequences. Typical tax CHEATS use lawyers. No threat of violence means no news story which is why you never hear of others being chased by the government.

Attention average citizens, your opinions are not welcome and count for nothing unless it is time for us to get elected again. During the election process you will be subjugated to the usual mindless attack ads financed by enough campaign money to feed all the starving children of this planet. Afterwards, we pledge to forget everything we just told you and pass legislation for the real folks that run this country at present. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter, please move along there is nothing to see here.

I was raised on a dairy farm. We always seperated the calves from the cows. They were then bottle fed. Why can't they do that here?
