Boston Marathon survivor upset at 'Meet the Press'

BOSTON (AP) -- A Boston Marathon bombing survivor says in a tweet that she left a Boston television studio in tears before a taping of NBC's "Meet the Press."

Dancer Adrianne Haslet-Davis lost her left foot in the bombing and said Friday she asked the national news program not to mention the suspect's name but the show used it.

NBC News spokeswoman Erika Masonhall says Haslet-Davis was due to take part in a round-table discussion and asked that the suspects' names not be mentioned. Masonhall says given the nature of the discussion "Meet the Press" could not make that guarantee and regrets any distress caused by the miscommunication.

She says the NBC News president left a voicemail for Haslet-Davis apologizing for the confusion.

A message seeking comment was left with a representative for Haslet-Davis.

She left before the taping. How did she know that NBC would mention the suspect's name?

Gregory always has been and always will be a complete idiot. He and more like him are reasons that i no longer watch anything on NBC.

Highly sensitive young lady and has every right to be but maybe she shouldn't have started the TV circuit until she had done more extensive mental and emotional healing

So far I've seen comments that Gregory is a right wing nut and left wing liberal. Can you folks please make up your minds?

I think she was led to believe that the show was about her, her journey, her recovery. Like a rape victim who is forced to confront her attacker every time she opens the newspaper or walks into court, it is very painful

I think it is pretty clear that the show wanted to have Haslet-Davis come on and had heard and understood why she did not want the suspect's name mentioned so if proceeding to ask her to be in a roundtable discussion they should have clarified with all participants first if it were a sensitive issue before extending formal procedures to bring her to studio. Haslet-Davis's wishes had been clear and studio could have done better arrangements in order to get a better outcome and spread to key insight from those affected by callous killers and terorrists. Ya Think?
