Police link Kansas City-area highway shootings

KC Police Investigate Connection In 13 Highway Shootings

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) - Police say they have linked some of the apparently random shootings targeting vehicles traveling on Kansas City-area highways over the past month.

Kansas City, Mo., police didn't indicate Wednesday what led them to that conclusion.

Federal authorities are helping investigate 13 shooting incidents between March 8 and April 6, three in which drivers were wounded.

Ten of the shootings took place in Kansas City, while the other three were in the suburbs of Blue Springs and Lee's Summit, Mo., and Leawood, Kan.

Police say several other possible victims came forward after hearing about the shootings in the media, but it's unclear how many are connected.

They also say victims and witnesses have provided inconsistent statements, making it difficult to get a grip on how many of the shootings are related.

When they find the person, they should shoot that person and be done with it.

Bringing back the concept of "outlaws" would eliminate a lots of problems. An outlaw is someone who is outside the protection for the law. Therefore, anyone can do as they will to him (shoot, torture, cut of their right hand, etc. ) and the outlaw has no legal recourse. Ah, for the days of old..

Headline : People are shooting at cars in Kansas. This story is about Kansas City, MISSOURI. I know it's confusing, but please try to pay attention to what you're writing.

Agreed. Most people outside of what they consider "flyover country" have no idea not only where Kansas City is, nevertheless the difference between Missouri and Kansas. As for these shootings, I do not live too far from the Three Trails Crossing (AKA the Grandview Triangle). I go through there, often with little thought of being shot. This is not a political issue, and only those with a small mind or an agenda would make it one.

Please don't call it the grandview triangle. It is Three Trails Crossings. Also most of these were in missouri and not kansas.

It would be Nice if these idiots would check they're facts. They take it for granted that Kansas City means it's in Kansas. You guy's (AOL) need to take some US Geography classes!

Some police Depts have access to a device that can pin point the position of shots fired onto a map using the decible of the shot they can then track or mark recently used positions. They were trying it in the Dc sniper case But ended up finding them 2 sleeping in a parked car!!

We had a similar group of shooting incidents several years ago in Columbus, Ohio, perpetrated by a person nicknamed the "270 shooter" for our city outerbelt number. If I remember correctly, he was found to be an off-meds victim of mental illness, and I think he was eventually discovered and turned in by family members. One person was killed here in the string of shootings, so it's no laughing matter, nor should it be exploited for political purposes. Make your arguments after people stop living in fear.
