Student charged in Pennsylvania stabbing

EXPORT, Pa. (AP) - Police have identified and charged a 16-year-old boy accused of stabbing and slashing 21 fellow students and a security guard at a Pennsylvania high school.

Authorities say Alex Hribal was being charged as an adult following the Wednesday morning attack in Murrysville, 15 miles east of Pittsburgh.

He appeared before Magisterial District Judge Charles Conway and was charged with four counts of attempted homicide and 21 counts of aggravated assault. He was shackled by his hands and feet and was dressed in a hospital gown.

The teenager's family lives in a two-story home with an attached garage in a nice subdivision of large, newer homes there. No one answered the door or phone calls.

The FBI was at the house Wednesday night.

Neighbors say the teenager is the younger of the family's two boys.

Headline reads "two knifes." Is this article left over from April Fools Day?

You want to ban the National Karate Association just when we need it?

It's getting to the point where metal detectors, pat downs, and or searches are going to have to be put into effect. These school shootings and stabbings are getting ridiculous.

Soon our schools will look like our prisons. Maximum Securiy with controlled access points and restricted access and pedestrian traffic control. How far we have come in the misguided right to educatuion philosophy. Compared to other developed nations we continually lose ground and we gnash the collective teeth and wonder how this has happened.

Glad to hear there are survivors this time. I guess the metal detectors missed that one? Oh that's right, banks are safer than schools. People care more about protecting money than children.

its a real shame but as I said many times before it is not the weapon used that kills it is the people adults and now teenagers need to start teaching children from an early age we do not kill someone because we get angry or any other reason we just do not kill eachother

We were thinking of moving to Boulder CO. Is anyone out there an expert on the hot spots for school violence..... would rather avoid it if possible. Anyone heard good or bad reports of the Boulder CO schools?

What is wrong with the world we live in? I am a single parent with 2 small boys. I worry about them every day when they get on the bus. I would home school them if I could.

Schools have funding for football and all this other extra curricular stuff I think it needs to be diverted into metal detectors at the doors of schools and teachers monitoring them .Our children are not safe in this world with bullying and cyberbulling Good kids innocent kids taking to much crap and finally blowing up in this type of a behavior while the real perp. is not held responsible for the harrassing bullying and picking on.Its a shame and a sham to say anything is being done about this other then alot of hot air being moved around and pats on the back.

Don't know, but I would bet the kid was socially maladjusted with very little Parental interaction! An ingredient that is missing in most homes today. Very few kids of today have any Religion in their lives and it shows in actions such as above!
