NBC boss isn't worried about Letterman successor

NEW YORK (AP) - With Jimmy Fallon doing so well as "Tonight" show host, NBC's boss expresses no fear about who will replace David Letterman on CBS.

NBC CEO Steve Burke said Monday he doesn't believe Tina Fey or Jay Leno will be in the running to replace Letterman. He said Fey seems happy making movies and has a production deal to make shows for NBC. NBC is still talking with Leno about a deal to make specials.

Letterman announced last week that he's retiring sometime next year.

Burke said Fallon's ratings since replacing Leno in February have surpassed NBC's expectations. No matter who replaces Letterman, Burke said he believes Fallon will still be the best in late-night TV.

Don't think Tina Fey is a good candidate. I'm sure Ellen would is quite comfy where she is. The best choice would have been John Oliver, but that ship may have sailed, since he is going to be starting a gig on HBO. Too bad. Currently not a lot of choices out there; maybe a new, fresh face will show up! How great would that be????

Carson was the only funny guy to me. The rest of those shows are like late night TV commercials!

Tina Fey to replace Letterman? People who ignore history are doomed to repeat it. Katy Couric thought she was strong enough to carry a news show and she wasn't. She should have stayed where she was.

Tina Fey is hugely successful at what she does, why should she want the stress of a nightly show?

Late night TV morphs into Saturday Night Live. I'm out of here.

Are they just floating that idea to see if it sticks? It would be nice to have someone funny, as the last year's of Lettermen, he lost his touch. Tina will not help my viewing late night.

Craig Ferguson, Rickie Gervais, Billy Crystal.
Fey and Fallon never found them funny or entertaining at all.
Letterman is big shoes to fill, good luck with that.

I'd like to see someone tell Letterman his old job was given to Rush Limbaugh just to see his head explode.
