Campus Coverage: Arizona ready to take on San Diego St.

After watching U of A play Weber St. in their first game there was some skepticism about whether or not the Wildcats deserved their number 1 seed. Free throw shooting in particular was in question for the Cats, and there was some speculation about whether or not they would be able to close out games with the way they have been playing recently.

On Sunday night, however, they put all those skeptic remarks to rest as they dominated the game from start to finish.

The Wildcats clearly realized their stumble in the first game and came to play. Rondae Hollis-Jefferson "shimmied" all those free-throw shooting slumps away with an 8-8 free throw shooting night while also shooting 5-7 from the field.

U of A also shot 7-18 from the three point line, which certainly helps their cause. In fact, the Cats shot 49% from the field in the game, and 72% from the free-throw line.

The Cats overall had a different tempo on Sunday compared to Friday against Weber St. They looked dominant and like they deserved to be a number 1 and wanted to win the tournament.

They certainly caught the attention of many people, including Kevin Durant who tweeted about Rondae Hollis-Jefferson's "shimmy" during his free-throw routine.

Next round the Cats have the pleasure of playing San Diego St. University, a very worthy opponent that the Cats have beaten earlier in the season, but since then have grown into a successful basketball team with impressive wins all season.

If the Wildcats continue their tenacity and play as they did on Sunday night against Gonzaga, Thursday nights game should be one for the books.
