Alicia Keys Takes St. Barts Vacation with Family ... and Husband's Ex-Wife

Alicia Keys is proving it's time for spring break - even for celebrities. "Good Morning America" says she's on vacation in St. Barts with her husband, Swizz Beatz, kiddos Egypt and Kasseem ... and, oh yeah, her husband's ex-wife.

'Grammy-winner Alicia Keys [is] seen here on vacation with her husband, music producer Swizz Beatz. But sitting right next to them on the edge of her chair: Beatz' ex-wife, R&B singer Mashonda Tifrere.'

Tifrere is also the mother of Beatz's 7-year-old son, Kasseem, who is also on vacation with the group. "Good Morning America" reminded us that this reunion is quite exceptional - especially considering all the drama beforehand. Let's rewind five years.

Tifrere wrote a scathing open letter to Keys, saying the singer had an affair with Beatz while he was still married to Tifrere. Examiner has the original letter Tifrere posted on her Twitter page, an excerpt of which reads:

'If you are reading this Alicia, let me start by saying, you know what you did. You know the role you played and you know how you contributed to the end of my marriage.'

Rumors continued to fly after Keys and Beatz announced their engagement and Keys' pregnancy less than a month after his divorce from Tifrere was finalized in May of 2010.

Keys didn't address Tifrere's homewrecker allegations until 2011, when she told Essence magazine she hadn't started dating her husband until months after he separated from his first wife.

It looks like Keys and Tifrere have finally been able to put aside their differences, at least for the sake of their children. They all seemed to be having a pretty great time on their vacation, from the looks of Beatz' Instagram account.

I used to be a huge Alicia Keys fan but not anymore. She lost a lot of female fans after discovering she got involved with a married man that had a family......sad

That has absolutely nothing to do with Alicia's performance as one the most beautiful and artistic talents of our time .

He'll do it again Alicia. When did women become so dumb? Just like Leanne Rhimes who had to institutionalize herself because of her insecurities about Eddie Cibrian possibly cheating, and that one she admitted herself! OMG, dumb as dirt!

This is why you stay away from separated males. Very vague term in the RW and one too many guys use just to be able to juggle two - or more - 'situations' while deeming themselves single. AK could have thought separated meant he'd had nothing to do with his ex since the separation, yet all the while he could have been separated and still sleeping with or making promises to his ex up until he became engaged to AK. Never know. His ex might have reason to be salty.

Another woman can NEVER " take" your man from you, he has to be willing to go. Obviously he was!

It's nice to see people get along, especially when children are involved.

Doing the right thing in these type relationships always benefit the children first; then the adults in the long run...(after they "get over" themselves).

no one can break up a marriage except the people in the marriage. Alicia is proving herself to be classy and generous.

Spoken like a cheater. No it doesn't take two to break up a marriage. It only takes one. And a third party never helps. But cheaters always like to blame the other person so they don't have to look too closely in their own mirror.

Spoken like a party that refuses to admit their part in a failed marriage. GTFOH. Like the comment said, no outside party can break up a marriage. That happens through the two involved in the marriage. Stop blaming her because HE moved on.

Sorry, spoken like an overweight housewife w/ personal issues. Yes only one person can break up a marriage...however it has to be one of the people IN the marriage. No one can MAKE you cheat.
