Pentagon spends $2.5 million in flight 370 search

WASHINGTON (AP) -- The Pentagon says it has spent $2.5 million to help in the search for the missing Malaysian Airlines jet.

The Defense Department has been flying high-tech surveillance planes to assist in the effort. The spending also includes operating costs for ships that have assisted in the search, which has stretched across the South China Sea and into the Indian Ocean.

A Navy P-8 Poseidon plane has been searching the Indian Ocean region where satellite imagery showed objects that may be from the plane. A P-3 Orion didn't fly Friday but is expected to rejoin the search Saturday.

A Pentagon spokesman says $4 million has been budgeted, and that amount could last into early April depending on the number of flying hours and whether other equipment is needed.

I hate to say it but there is a very good chance this airliner will never be found.

It is a possibility that this 777 jetliner:
a) went down in the ocean on the way to Beijing but it's ridiculous not to have an idea of the location.
b) flew to Central Asia but it's ridiculous not to have an idea of the location.
c) has already been shot down because it was being used as a WMD "weapon of mass destruction". (this would be done under per-giving orders as part of the national defense authorization act)
Taking into consideration the passengers on this Malaysian flight to China; mostly Chinese and headed for China. This ties into the more recent terrorism attack in Kunming China (I've been there) often terrorist attacks are done at multiple times or period. So I still think; it was all about terrorism in China. Today the world is so small what happens in China (or Asia) effect the US, UK, EU, Japan and others. So a terrorist has a large part of the world to inflict the fear of terror or "Kaos".
There is nothing logistical about flying this jetliner far east/south unless it was traveling to southern India. There are about 120 millions muslims living there who are mostly Urdu speakers, some (not most) of these people are linked to a terrorist group.
Very unlikely the jetliner would head far east and/or south because; most terrorism will be done in multiple attacks. Based on the recent terrorist attack in Kunming China it is reasonable to believe this Malaysian jetliner with mostly Chinese citizens aboard has been and is part of a terrorism plot.
Some say this was done by the Islamic network in southern Thailand that has had decades of blood relationships with an Islamic network in Afghanistan and Xinjiang China, along with many more relationships than just these three. The Islamic terrorist group in southern Thailand and others, are not part of the mainline Islamic group we normally hear about. The groups in west/north China and south Thailand have been and are looking for independence. It's interesting that Afghanistan and Xinjiang share the same border and for the most part this is a open border. The many borders are Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Russia, Mongolia and the disputed land of India and Pakistan which is the nation of Kashmir; are areas that share the same borders and more than 200 million muslims live in the area. Here there are many wars and/or people often often have battles of war taking place.
Normal protocol in anti-terrorism program to deny (so far there is no proof) so that citizens do not panic. This event was difficult to cover up because so many counties know that it was a terrorist attack but do not want to be made looking silly with another American cover-up "we have not had a terrorist attack since 911"

Himan life and terrorist threats cannot be measured in $ and tolerated no matter where in the world they attack. Hope they can find the black box soon.

This is not a issue for the USA and the money spent is being wasted. Malayasia is responsible. China should also be involved. Not the USA in more than a consulting way. Terrorism is alive and well inspite of what Great Leader Obama says!
