San Jose Sharks make teen's dream come true

San Jose Sharks Bring Fan to Tears After Fulfilling Lifelong Dream

The San Jose Sharks fulfilled the dreams of a teen, bringing him to tears and warming the hearts of everyone that hears his story. Sam Tageson, 17, is a lifelong Sharks fan, and despite a life threatening heart condition that leaves him with only two heart chamber rather than four, Sam has played hockey since the age six.

The Sharks Foundation teamed up with the Make-A-Wish Foundation to do something special for the teen: they offered him a one-day contract.

Sam had the chance to practice with the team, meet the team's general manager and, for the first time in the history of the franchise, a non-player skated out of the trademark shark head at the start of Tuesday's game. To top off an amazing day, the SAP Center gave Sam a standing ovation.

After the game Sam told reporters, "No way to top today."

Sam is able to get a heart transplant, but doctors will wait until his situation requires it.

It just goes to show that not all hockey players are a bunch of brutes. Praying that Sam gets his wish. Looking foreward to seeing him play in the majors.

when you play a sport despite a life threatening condition and the professionals in that sport take time out to honor you and make you feel welcomed by the industry it says a lot about the team. he picked a great team to support and they are supporting him with memories he could never have normally.
