San Jose Sharks make teen's dream come true

San Jose Sharks Bring Fan to Tears After Fulfilling Lifelong Dream

The San Jose Sharks fulfilled the dreams of a teen, bringing him to tears and warming the hearts of everyone that hears his story. Sam Tageson, 17, is a lifelong Sharks fan, and despite a life threatening heart condition that leaves him with only two heart chamber rather than four, Sam has played hockey since the age six.

The Sharks Foundation teamed up with the Make-A-Wish Foundation to do something special for the teen: they offered him a one-day contract.

Sam had the chance to practice with the team, meet the team's general manager and, for the first time in the history of the franchise, a non-player skated out of the trademark shark head at the start of Tuesday's game. To top off an amazing day, the SAP Center gave Sam a standing ovation.

After the game Sam told reporters, "No way to top today."

Sam is able to get a heart transplant, but doctors will wait until his situation requires it.

Classy move by the Sharks from a Penguins fan. Best of luck to Sam.

It was wonderful that the Sharks did this for this young boy. Something he will never forget nor will the people who were at the game.

The Sharks were always a class operation. They are the ONLY thing I miss about living in Kalifornia.
