The Science of Character (a new 8 min "Cloud Film")

Premiering online and at over 1,500 live events around the world on March 20, 'The Science of Character' reveals how it is possible for anyone to develop their character strength.

Created by award-winning filmmaker Tiffany Shlain ('Connect,' 'The Future Starts Here'), 'Character' challenges the conventional belief that people are stuck with the character attributes they are born with, and reveals how it is possible for anyone to build up their core character strengths and use them to achieve greater personal, academic, and professional success and happiness.

The film premiere will serve as the centerpiece of #CharacterDay, a 24-hour series of live events
and online conversations highlighting the expanding catalog of scientific research proving that positive characteristics like self control, optimism, and gratitude can be nurtured and developed.

The film expands on Shlain's signature filmmaking style of unraveling complex science, psychology,
and technology topics in a way that is entertaining, engaging, and challenging for audiences of all ages.

In her acclaimed Sundance feature documentary 'Connected' (2011) and in her new hit Aol series 'The Future Starts Here' (2013), which has received more than 20 million views since its debut last fall, Shlain has used a stunning mix of archival footage, animation, and home video to create a new type of visual storytelling experience, which The New York Times hailed as "high tech Terry Gilliam."

Yet we live in a culture that endorses victimization, greed, and accepts lame excuses for bad behavior. Our current crop of celebs are lower than whale poop. Our politicians are greed driven do-nothings. We extol the 'virtues' of people who do nothing but make money. Because everyone in the USA is looking for that big payday, as if that's going to fix what's wrong.

Changing your habits is work. It's hard. And in America today too many of us would rather emulate the train wrecks on the We Channel than actually doing something good. Her message is just singin' to the choir. Her listeners are already on board.

This is something every intelligent person has been searching for. If we can develop
core strengths of, which she speaks, we can control our own emotions of greed and
foolish ego. That is a huge start.

Yep, or you could just read your Bible and do what it says: love God above all things and love your neighbor as yourself.

I miss the characteristic of trustworthy. Is it hidden somewhere in the table? My wife cheated on me, and as a result I am more sensitive to the virtue of trust.

Now if we could just find a way to breed for that maybe there would be some hope for the future of Homo sapiens...but since there is none we will have to accept the bottom half of the bell curve...it must all be god's will or it would be different...ergo Theofatalism...google for details...
