Police searching for prisoner who walked out of California jail

Police Searching for Prisoner Who Walked Out of California Jail

'Red-faced authorities in California are searching for an inmate for escaped from a downtown Los Angeles jail. Surveillance images showing Christopher Lee Brown who was sentenced four years and eight months for stealing computers from a medical center.'

But it's how he escaped that's mind-boggling. "Fox & Friends" takes us through the way Brown slipped past the guards and out the jail doors:

'A prisoner just walked right out of the California jail.'
'He slipped away impersonating another inmate scheduled for release. Authorities say staff at the jail failed to follow security practices.'

That's right, he just walked out. Officials first noticed an inmate was missing during a routine head count involving wristbands with barcodes.

When they reviewed the prison's security footage, officials saw Brown had walked out in street clothes. KCAL spoke with Captain Mike Parker of the LA County Sheriff's Department.

'Preliminary it appears that there were mistakes made by jail staff, who are human beings and they make mistakes too.'

'He strolled out with his hair in a ponytail. In addition to changing his clothes he ditched his barcoded wristband.'

The Los Angeles Times says Brown was sentenced Wednesday in connection with a burglary and identity theft case that landed him 4 years in jail.

Back in 1997, he was convicted of assault with a deadly weapon and spousal abuse. Due to his violent past, investigators advise anyone who spots Brown to avoid approaching him and instead call police immediately.

The AOL headline needs to be fixed to be more correct. "Guards Duped As Prisoner Simply Walks Out." It sounds like it would be more accurate if the headline said, "Guards DOPED Up As Prisoners Simply Walks Out" or "Guards Are DOPES To Let Prisoner Simply Walk Out."

I do too. I wish these columnists would also learn that the men and women working in these jails and prisons are not guards either. They are Corrections officers.

One man's Corrections Officer is another man's prison guard.

Whenever a felon walks out of a lockup someone needs to lose their job. Those kind of mistakes can take lives when unexpected freedom occurs.

Why can't we stop using feminist grammar--and go back to using English grammar? "Someone" is singular. The correct sentence is "...someone needs to lose HIS job." But I know--"his" is masculine and therefor verboten by feminists because even though it worked fine for hundreds of years, it now puts "her" in a secondary position. Of course using "her" instead of "his" is fine with feminists, showing that, as usual, it's all about power and dominance. (Phew--it stinks.)

Nowadays, a felon can build up a rap sheet a mile long, kill someone, and get off with just 5-6 years. It is unbelievable what our "justice" system has morphed into,.

'He strolled out with his hair in a ponytail. In addition to changing his clothes he ditched his barcoded wristband.'

Oh, I see. I mean, how could any facility be expected to deal with that level of subterfuge?

Am I the only one that's being FORCED to watch this clip of the broad Alexis shopping at Chinamart.... I mean WALMART? Walmart packs their "meat" in bubble packages with argon gas, with the plastic NOT touching the meat, specifically to make the "meat" last as LONG as possible on the shelf while retaining an APPEARANCE of being fresh. Guess what? Go ahead and buy a package of "meat" from China(Wal)Mart... and another package of REAL meat from another store, and then open them BOTH and expose the contents to the AIR and see what happens. The "meat" from China(Wal)Mart will turn brown and rancid within a VERY short period of time and will be rotten within an hour. GO AHEAD, try it and see for yourself.

Get a life. We don't care about your personal grievance with Walmart and your claim about the plastic not touching the meat isn't even true.

Hey Joe - I have a life. And using the term "we" .... puh-leeze. With a screen name like "joebudgie" .... well that says a lot right there. And walmart packing their "meat" in gas to keep the "meat" appearing fresh for as LONG as possible - IT IS TRUE. Go buy a package of "meat" at Walmart, and then another package of the same true meat from another grocer, open them both and see what happens. I'm speaking from truth as WE conducted this experiment in a room of 50 people and EVERYONE gasped in disgust. Now go back to guzzling your beer....
