Woman Wallops Reporter in Face with Purse

WNEP reporter Bill Wadell was walloped on live TV with a woman's purse.

'Whop! Smacked him in the face with a big purse. Affiliate WNEP she had just pleaded guilty to posting naked pictures of her husband's girlfriend online. She may now face more charges.'

The station itself, WNEP, also posted a video of the moment on its website, where you can see that before the purse smack, the woman, named Julie Ottaviani, also tried to take the reporter's microphone.

'Would you like to apologize for what happened? Come on! Hey! Julie! Just let it go. Let it go, let it go, let it go. ... You want to apologize ...'

You can also hear an unidentified person say he would have pressed assault charges against Ottaviani.

As for the background on the case itself, authorities say 54-year-old Ottaviani created a fake Facebook page and posted naked photos.

'She reportedly hacked into his email in January and stole two naked photos of his new girlfriend, then not only did she create the fake page, but she targeted the victim's 14-year-old son by adding him as a friend.'

The Times Leader reports last month after Ottaviani was arrested, she was released on a $10,000 unsecured bail.

'Investigators said in the complaint that Julie Ottaviani stated 'I wanted to get her fired,' meaning the girlfriend, and sent the nude pictures to the girlfriend's son because 'I wanted her kid to hurt as much as mine,' the complaint says.'

According to court documents, Ottaviani's formal arraignment is June 6.
