Source: Broncos, DeMarcus Ware agree to deal

Broncos Favorite To Land Ware

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (AP) -- The Denver Broncos kept their free agency focus on defense as they agreed to a three-year deal with pass rusher DeMarcus Ware, according to a person with knowledge of the situation.

The person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity Wednesday because the deal has yet to be announced and is pending a physical.

The deal with Ware is worth $30 million, with $20 million guaranteed.

Ware was let go Tuesday by Dallas in a salary-cap move. He had a franchise-record 117 sacks for the Cowboys since being drafted in the first round in 2005. He had a career-low six sacks last season and missed games for the first time in his career because of a thigh injury.

The 31-year-old Ware will play opposite of Von Miller.

Denver is on quite a spending spree so far in free agency, agreeing to deals with safety T.J. Ward, cornerback Aqib Talib and Ware for a combined $110 million. The Broncos are trying to upgrade the talent on the roster, not knowing how long Peyton Manning will be running the offense.

The team is coming off a 43-8 loss to Seattle in the Super Bowl last month.

Great way to build up team and fan spirit. Get rid of your star players. Jerry Jones has taught me you can buy anything in the world. But you can't have everything in the world. Like a winning team. Jimmy Johnson was right. You can't have two head coaches coaching a team. That's why Dallas will never make it to the final dance.

Demarkas: Thanks for your years playing with the Dallas Cowboys. Your departure is a loss for Dallas and certainly a gain for Denver. Another bad decision made by Jerry Jones.
Good luck to you in the future!

Love Ware and his attitude and his leadership. He'll bring some great talent, knowledge and enthusiasm to the Defense in Denver. He asked to play win a winner before he retired, thinking that the Cowboys would rise back to fame...... Well, looks like he will get his wish after the Jones cut the best sacker in their entire history becuase he had a thigh injury. Well, that Jerry Jones motto - "Lie, cheat, steal, bribe, I don't care - Just get the player!" "Use them up - throw them away", is what they say in the locker room the sports magazine reported.

Dallas could have traded Ware to Denver and everyone would have been happy...Dallas got nothing for Ware..

Good for DeMarkas. Fantastic football player and Dallas will suffer this loss. So happy he is with a winning team.

Well, it will certainly be easy to guess who the sports writers will name as super bowl favorites.

The Broncos just signed a future Hall of Famer...Dallas has lost it's mind.

Another reason Dallas won't win until Jerry Jones butts out and lets the Coaches do what they do best.
