Miami, Florida: Metropolitan by COMO, Miami Beach

The Metropolitan by COMO, Miami Beach opened yesterday and, if you're looking to get away from the East Coast's brutal winter, rooms are still available for tonight. The Art Deco interior was designed by Italian Paola Navone. (Like what you see? Navone also has a collection with Crate & Barrel.) "Several" of its 74 rooms having water views, either of the Atlantic Ocean or Intracoastal Waterway and Lake Pancoas. Also, there's that pool pictured at the top of this article. And, because Miami, light, warmth, spa. Rates start at around $322 a night.

Savannah, Georgia: DoubleTree by Hilton Savannah Airport

Just in time for Savannah's annual St. Patrick's Day ruckus, comes the opening of the 97-suite DoubleTree by Hilton Savannah Airport. The former Cambria Suites Savannah Airport offers "boutique-like ambience marked by contemporary décor and warm earth-tones throughout the property." Also, each suite has two 32-inch TVs, a microwave and a refrigerator -- making it an ideal business-traveler hotel or St. Patrick's Day reveler flophouse. Cookie at check in. Rates start at around $116 a night.

Beijing, China: Waldorf Astoria

Sure there's still smog and political repression, but at least the Chinese capital is no longer without a Waldorf Astoria. March 1 saw the opening of the hotelier's second, um, hotel in China (the first is in Shanghai) and 26th overall, according to the Hollywood Reporter. All of 176 guest rooms have AppleTVs, so you can stream your Apple device to the television. Located in Beijing's downtown business district, the distinct bronze building is also close to Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City. And, as it's a Waldorf, expect nice sheets. Rates start at $355 a night.
