Michelle Obama to appear on 'Parks and Recreation'

WASHINGTON (AP) - The cast of NBC's "Parks and Recreation" is getting a new member for a night: Michelle Obama.

The first lady's office says Mrs. Obama will appear on the show's season finale on April 24.

The show's Twitter account said it's "time to get real about Pawnee's obesity." It's a reference to Pawnee, Ind., the fictional town where the show takes place, and the first lady's campaign against child obesity.

The show's star, Amy Poehler, lent the campaign a hand earlier this week when she appeared at a "Let's Move" event in Miami, where Mrs. Obama joked that she and Poehler are best friends.

Mrs. Obama won't be the first White House figure to appear on the show. Vice President Joe Biden made a cameo on the show in 2012.

I wish the Obamas would "appear" at the White House once in a while AND DO SOMETHING positive and helpful about this country.

Great picture of Michelle. The caption under it should read Michelle Obama being arrested for stealing from the Americans.

Puh-leeze! Get this woman off the television. Does anyone realize that she'll keep appearing for years on re-runs of the tv sitcom?? Stick to plot and (real) character, please. We won't be watching Parks and Recreation -- haven't so far and won't be tuning in for this debacle and waste of everyone's time.

She needs to appear to be leaving the White House and public view. She is a joke

No matter how they try to make her a very likable person, she comes off very badly. She is a problem for her husband who is a very likable guy. I don't think we have ever had a First Lady
who was less liked than this one. Can't put my finger on it exactly, but there is something about her that rubs people the wrong way. The best thing for our President would be to keep her away from the population.

Enough of Mrs. Obama already. She's over-exposed, and no one wants to hear her telling other people how to live their lives, anymore. If she wants to champion something, she should spend the next three years harranguing her husband about ensuring that our military people are receiving living wages, so they don't find it necessary to go on food stamps in order to feed their families.

Where are you getting this information about the military? They have their housing paid for and if they live on post, their utilities are also taken care of. How many other employers do that? None that I can think of.

And how many "employees" put their lives on the line from the moment they enlist so that you, your family and this country have the freedom to put comments online to agree or disagree with something they see and hear? Shame on you!!!

Tell the Republicans to stop voting against the military as they just did it again.
