Anchors hold up funny signs during technical meltdown

Anchors Communicate With Hilarious Signs During Technical Meltdown

WGN Morning News experienced possibly the biggest technical meltdown ever -- no audio!

While Nancy Loo continued her field report, the in-studio anchors took the mess in stride, holding up a bunch of funny signs that have quickly gone viral.

From 'Try Ctrl+Alt+Del' to 'no one will notice' and 'now's my chance to dance,' the anchors made the most of a pretty rough situation.

Robin Baumgarten even took it as an opportunity to throw some digs at co-anchor Larry Potash (who in turn decided to shame his boss).

We've got to hand it to them: these anchors are pretty hilarious under pressure.

That’s one great job of maintaining one’s cool and keeping the audience involved during a crisis….
this is SNL material……

I'll admit, this has got to be the FUNNIEST way a technical glitch would have been handled. I haven't lived around Chicago since August 1982, but I still have some GRAND memories of what my early years were like here.

What does this newcast have to do with your living in Chicago 32 years ago? I don't understand the connection?

At last a local news cast that doesn't take itself so seriously. Maybe the network poo-bahs could learn something from this station.

I love WGN News. I watch it all the time, but I heard that it is not going to be nationwide much longer. Does anyone know anything about this?

I may be only ONE of a few people NOT knowing about this. BUT, after this incident, I don't BLAME some of the people for WGN News.

GOOD GOING GANG. I remember watching TV as a kid, when the movies were sponsored by local Chicago used car dealers. Everything was live, and once in a while, the salesman would be standing by a used car, extolling its merits, then say, OK, on to the next auto. Take this bably away, - and the auto would not start. The camera would sloooowly move to the next auto, and the show went on. Now that I think of it, watching plays and shows live was much more fun back then.

It would be nice if WGN returned their late evening news to WGN America instead of reruns of Americas funniest home videos, so us on satellite could see whats happening in Chicago.
