Plow Throws Snow and Ice Through Windows of Restaurant

One of the last places you might expect to see snow is INSIDE a restaurant. "Fox & Friends" explains how one driver ended up making that happen last Thursday.

'The moment when a speeding snow plow slams a mountain of snow into that New York City restaurant. The impact shattering windows - it hurt customers and caused $50,000 worth of damages.'

According to the Daily Mail, the nightmare occurred at Exo Cafe in Queens, New York.

WNBC reports workers inside the restaurant said the impact was so loud they thought a bomb had actually gone off. The restaurant's manager told the station about the incident.

'The vestibule was about five feet out here, and it just came in, hit this, knocked these people off. I appreciate everything that the sanitation department does, but this was pure negligence.'

WCBS notes the operators of the plow that allegedly threw all that snow, ice and even a garbage can are facing "disciplinary action" for what happened. Four people were sent to the hospital after being injured by the impact, but, fortunately, no one was killed.

'Had anyone been standing out front reading Exo's outdoor menu, managers fear this terrifying surveillance video would have ended with a fatality.'

According to WCBS, no charges have been filed so far.

I live in Upstate NY and when the plow comes down our street (which is a circle) watch out - he flys down the road like a nut case. We have many kids and pets, plus wildlife - it's a miracle he hasn't hit any living thing yet - he does take down a few mailboxes every year. I don't think these guys are trained - which is a scary thing.

Get with it. It is expensive to train them. No one wants to pay. See what ya get?

If I lived in upstate NY, I would just be grateful they were plowing the snow......he can go as fast as he wants. These guys are trained, just over-worked.......if you drove 16 hours, you might get tired too,

What an inexperienced driver! How did he get the job?
Why are they throwing snow and ice onto the sidewalk anyway? Who is supposed to clean the sidewalk? Who is running the snow removal operation?
In Montreal, the snow plow pushes snow into the middle of the street so the snow blower can shoot the snow into a convoy of trucks that follows to take it away. But, of course, they have it run like a military operation because the city gets between 120 to 180 inches a year.

that is too expensive for the US., Our country is in the crapper and no one will pay for such an operation. People are unable to grasp the fact that if you want effective public services, they must be paid for. They think they come from some magical source that no one can explain. We would rather take our chances.

Could of been a very large lawsuit. Glad they're all ok.

Geez. It must have been terrifying, and they are very lucky indeed that nobody was killed. Snow is heavy and ice is sharp.

why are the "I earn $90.00 working from home" ads allowed in every comment section. They have nothing to do with the articles and I am sick of seeing them!

Do what I do, flag them.

They are pulled when the moderators find them. The spammers are using different IP addresses each time so they can't be blocked. Flagging them lets the moderators pull them faster.

The city doesn't care, they have lots of your tax dollars to pay the law suits with.
