President Obama bemoans growing 'older and creakier'

Obama On Getting 'Older And Creakier'

(Reuters) - Like most Americans of a certain age, President Barack Obama is starting to complain about the aches and pains of getting older.

Obama told retired National Basketball Association star Charles Barkley in an interview that aired on Sunday that he was limiting his basketball playing to about once a month because "things happen."

"One is, you just get a little older and creakier. The second thing is, you've got to start thinking about elbows and you break your nose right before a State of the Union address," the 52-year-old president said in the interview broadcast on the TNT network before the NBA All-Star Game.

Discussing the aging process during an exchange about his signature healthcare reform law, Obama said that being past 50, "you wake up and something hurts and you don't know exactly what happened, right?"

Obama said he was enjoying watching his 12-year-old daughter, Sasha, play basketball.

When Barkley commented that he struggled watching his own daughter play because he wanted her "to be really, really good," Obama said: "I think it's a difference if you're a Hall of Famer. You probably have a higher standard than somebody who was a good high school player."

Maybe he should resign so he can play golf all day, appear on all of the talk shows and watch TV and drink beer...maybe even go to Colorado and get some weed...

Geee, if you listen to all the Dr. shows and do as they say, we all could be playing basketball well into our 90s. Cant wait to see these doctors when they reach there 70s.

I see my comment duplicated. Aol has a weird site here. Sometimes its says "we are sorry . . . . . . due to technical difficulties your comment could not be added. . . . . . .please try again . . . . ." and then the comment is added not once but twice. Also when voting for the comments. something is weird. I have had votes not register, some votes increase the total by as much as 4 instead of the 1 and sometimes they do not register at all with the "we are sorry . . . . . . . " Makes me feel like there is something controlling the counter by what is commented or what the person voting on is seeing. If you do not believe me, try and watch what happens to the totals.

When a person ages they usually take on being wiser instead of being labled young and foolish.I had a friend when I was in the Air Force who had this saying about people he didn't trust. He would say man why do you want to tell that lie everybody knows you had rather climb a tree to tell a lie rather than stay on the ground and tell the truth. When a person tells an outright lie they have to tell another lie to back it up. When you speak the truth nothing has to be added.

Do some research on Presidential vacations and then come back here and admit that your comment is probably not as relevant as you think it is.

Obama is limiting his basketball playing because "things happen". Yes, things happen...things like foreign policy difficulties, economic problems, his HCA debacle, the problem of illegal immigrants continuing to invade our US borders...these "things" that require more of his time and attention is, unfortunately NOT what he's talking about...he's talking about limiting his physical activities like basketball, because he's getting old! His priorities are just simply astounding!!!!!

his single-minded priority is the destabilization and trivialization of America; and why not, since he is a Kenyan muslim who under it all really hates America.

I can see where he'd be concerned about breaking his nose. The damn thing keeps growing longer with every lie.

after an exhausting day napping on air force one president obama likes to unwind with a little hoops.once he's done he likes to sit and chat with michelle while she wipes the sweat off his practice balls.
