The actress announced to the Las Vegas audience Friday, "I'm here today because I'm gay. And because maybe I can make a difference. To help others have an easier and more hopeful time. Regardless, for me, I feel a personal obligation and a social responsibility."

Page said she felt she had been "lying by omission" by not coming out and revealing her true self. "I suffered for years because I was scared to be out," Page told the audience. She opened up about the pain she felt, starting with her entrance into the limelight after 2007's 'Juno' became a hit.

As soon as the news broke, many fans Tweeted in support of the 26-year-old star.
