'Zombies' hide in sewers, scare New Yorkers

People in the Big Apple are used to seeing strange things on the street -- but they never expected hungry zombies to pop out of sewer grates.

New York Daily News says the whole thing was just a prank cooked up by AMC to promote its mid-season premiere of 'The Walking Dead' February 9th.

This isn't the first time AMC has had zombies prank the unsuspecting.

US Weekly says the network had viral Vine prankster Nick Santonastasso - who has only one arm and no legs - fly out to Tokyo to prank 'The Walking Dead' star Norman Reedus.

Seems like 'The Walking Dead' has a pretty great marketing department.
