NEW YORK (AP) - Authorities say one person was killed and two people were critically injured when a New York City bus and a truck collided in Manhattan, then barreled into scaffolding and a building.
Fire officials say at least two other people suffered minor injuries in the crash, which occurred around 5:30 a.m. Wednesday in Greenwich (GREN'-ich) Village.
Police say there were two passengers on the bus. They suffered minor injuries.
Police say the truck driver, who also suffered minor injuries, was being questioned at the hospital.
The injured were taken to Beth Israel Hospital.
It wasn't immediately clear what caused the crash.
TV reports show that the collision sent both vehicles onto the sidewalk, into scaffolding that collapsed and into a building at 14th Street and 7th Avenue. Streets in the vicinity were closed to traffic.
