Man Breaks Into Home, Only Takes Selfie

A woman in Colorado recently found a disturbing selfie on her cell phone.

Police say she was putting her kids to bed when a man broke in, took a photo of himself and then left. KCNC reports the mother is still 'traumatized' by the incident.

Police say the man was able to sneak through the family's back door without anyone noticing. So far, the suspect hasn't been identified, but a neighbor told the station he recognizes the man in the photo.

Man

KMGH reports that although the family doesn't personally know the man seen in the selfie, they've apparently seen him walking in their neighborhood in the past.

The Denver Post reports that the incident actually happened back on January 29, but almost two weeks later the unidentified man is still on the loose.

Nothing was stolen from the home.

Crime Stoppers is offering a $2,000 reward for any information that leads to an arrest.

Look no more. I'm almost sure the man in the selfie is Geraldo Rivera.

He could also be someone who is mentally disabled. I have a MD son who may do something like this without any harm intended.

Then with all due respect, if your son is an adult and has "impaired judgement" that would frighten any normal person like this, he needs to be supervised 24/7.

In realty, locks are made to keep honest people honest. A thief will always be able to get into your home if he/she wants. The problem is not the locks, its people attitudes these days. Way too many people do not know what it means to "own something" that you worked hard to get as the mentality today is, "you have to much so I want my fair share". Class warfare brought up constantly by even our president has taught people to not respect anything anymore.

You are an idiot if you think that this type of behavior started when Obama got into office. Long before then!

Its crazy I was just reading in another article on Huffington Post where a 17 year old kid stole 36 000 dollars from Walmart. And all the commenter's on that story were pulling for the thief. He was a store manager impersonator. And was allowed to enter a cash room, where he loaded his pockets with the cash. And everybody who commented on that post, were all pulling for the brat. Now over here this guy breaks in and only takes a picture and all you people are ready to hang him high. I see why America is the way it is...why these people are the way they are.....society as a whole is bi-polar in every sense of the word. One group is all for a thief, while another group is ready to maim and murder the guy? Whew what a nation this is....very hard to find a jury...that has a sense of responsibility or fairness.

You should choose you words more carefully. I posted on the site that you referenced and i was not(pulling for the thief) as you put it. I said that i was a manager in Kohls and that he would never have made it into the cash office so don't lump me in with the rest of these nuts.

You make a good point but as much as I hate" the Walmonster" I was not clapping for them but had hopes this little crook (from walmart) should be tried as an adult. They have to do something to stop this sort of problem......beginning with these SO CALLED CHILDREN who because of their tender ages think they can get away with anything. We need to be able to "hire" better judges--not like this business of voting for the same judge over and over again and get some ---well what could we call them---HANGING JUDGES who won't coddle these "little" creeps. who said a kid is still a kid at 17? Maybe in the good ole days they were but these days these KIDS are more savy then I am at 63.

That is creepy and unsettling. Clearly he wanted her to know he could get in without anyone knowing. I would be much more careful about locking my doors and get an alarm system and use it. Not the smartest move as he cant very well say he didn't do it. Since he didn't take anything I would guess he gets off on the thrill of being in someone's home while they are there and not getting caught. Let's hope they find him, however I don't think he would get much time for something like this. Trespassing at best or maybe if they can prove he has been in the area peeking in windows and such it could be stalking though that is reaching. Sadly at some point he will escalate and someone will get hurt.
