These Are the Movie Quotes Everyone Gets Wrong

You might be surprised by how many popular movie quotes you're remembering just a bit wrong.

'The Wizard of Oz'
Though most people say 'Looks like we're not in Kansas anymore,' or 'Toto, I don't think we're in Kansas anymore,' those quotes aren't quite right.

Dorothy actually says 'Toto, I've a feeling we're not in Kansas anymore.'

'The Silence of the Lambs'
If you've always thought Hannibal Lecter greets Clarice by saying 'Hello, Clarice,' we've got news for you. It's actually 'Good evening, Clarice.' How polite!

'Field of Dreams'
That whispering voice? It's not quietly murmuring 'If you build it, they will come.' The correct quote is 'If you build it, he will come.'

'Wall Street'
Though Gordon Gekko definitely thinks greed is good, his quote is actually 'Greed, for lack of a better word, is good.'

'Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs'
The Queen says 'Magic mirror on the wall, who is the fairest one of all?' Most people think it's 'Mirror, mirror on the wall' ... and most people are incorrect.

'The Empire Strikes Back'
This might blow your mind, but when Vader reveals his true identity to Luke, he does not say 'Luke, I am your father.' He actually says 'No, I am your father.'

How many of these quotes have you been saying wrong? Don't worry, we won't judge.

Another one is "Play it again, Sam" in CASABLANCA. I think the actual line is "Play it, Sam. Play 'As Time Goes By.'"

And Rick doesn't say it. Ilsa does. (Am I mistaken?)

In A Streetcar Named Desire he doesn't say "Stella!" He says "Hey, Stella!"

"Play it again, Sam!" is not what Rick says in Casablanca either.

What about Gone With The Wind? Practically everybody attributes Rhett to saying "Frankly my dear I don't give a d***." When actually what he says is "Frankly Scarlett I don't give a d***." It's also widely quoted as being the final line in the movie. It's not. The final line was Scarlett's, under a sunset at Tara saying "After all, tomorrow is another day!"

No, in the movie he definitely says "Frankly my dear..."

For "Field of Dreams" it was at first, "If you build it, he will come" as the article states, but once Kevin Costner started building it, it became "If you build it, they will come". They are both in the movie.

It's previews that mess us up, I think.

On the one video, where he says, "Greed, in an other word, is good." The preview of that movie had him say, "Greed is good". So, I don't know.

About the Snow White quote: Actually in German it would be right, because we do say "Mirror, mirror, ..." and not "Magic mirror" (in German of course *lol*).

For some reason that entry in the list is oddly written and backwards from all the others, but "Magic mirror" it's the correct line, and "Mirror mirror" is wrong.

People remember it as "Mirror, mirror," because that's the way it was in the original Grimm fairy tale. Disney changed it.
