Principal sings 'Bohemian Rhapsody' school cancellation message

Principal Plays Fun 'Bohemian Rhapsody' School Cancellation Message

Forget the monotonous school closing list played over the phone. This just may be the best school cancellation announcement we've ever heard.

Set to Queen's 'Bohemian Rhapsody,' the principal and drama teacher sang:

'School is closed, school is closed, sorry parents, for another day!'
'So everyone grab a snuggie and watch TV, or play the Wii, and maybe reeeeeeeeead.'

The YouTube video description explains that the principal was hoping to spread some fun and gain exposure by posting the video online.

'You know of someone willing to help us out with some cash for technology, we DESPERATELY need it. Ellen? Rosie? Oprah? Jimmy Kimmel? We love our jobs - I hope you can tell!,' the principal wrote.

We sure can.

Yes, he must be. If being a school official who is willing to sacrifice his dignity in order to be condsidered "cool" by a bunch of 16 year-olds qualifies as "great."

Dignity is fine, but being thought of as "cool" may just well get a lot better results from the students when they realize the prinicipal is a real person they might get along well with. And I'll bet more parents and students paid attention to the message that might have done with the regular dull one.

That was hilarious, and in a nation mostly snowed under or conversely facing drought, we can all use some humor.

Great way to call off school BUT they will be singing the blues in July, when still in school

I go back to the "get up at 6am and listen for your school name read on the radio" days. THIS is a truly caring and dedicated educator!!! I applaud his marvously creative presentation of a small piece of news. I pray he gets all the financial assistance for his school. He truly deserves it.
