Super Bowl blackout for some Time Warner Cable customers

Super Bowl Denver
LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Time Warner Cable says its investigating a blackout on its standard-definition Fox channel in Southern California that has cut off the Super Bowl telecast for its customers.

The company said in a Twitter message that it's working to resolve the problem, which is not affecting the Fox high-definition channel.

Hundreds of football fans are taking to Twitter to complain about the blackout, which occurred shortly before the halftime show. Two other Time Warner cable channels - KCAL-TV and KTLA-TV - were also blacked out.

It wasn't immediately clear how many customers were affected by the blackout.

Calls and email messages to Time Warner Cable spokesmen were not immediately returned.

The Seattle Seahawks were leading 29-0 over the Denver Broncos at the top of the third quarter.

We already got our price hike last month, just like every January.

What a lame story! There was a blackout. They don't know how many were affected. They don't know what caused it. But to give the report credit, they did manage to figure out when it happened. That's real crackerjack reporting on AOL.

And you are surprised how? Fortunately, the customers did not miss anything, game or commercials. But, TWC is a company that is not working for it's customers. The only positive is their internet. It is so much better than the competition. But the cable is getting so expensive that internet programming is very close in my TV future. TWC is driving suscribers that way.

At&t uverse is not any better. I switch to them as they promised a great package which turned out to be nothing but lies. I ended up going back to TWC a month later. What is one to do as all of the different companys have pros and cons with most being cons. Either way, your going to pay.

They didn't miss much. The game was over in the first quarter.

time warner has become too big. they act as if they are up and beyond anyone when they are actually just a 2 bit operation. the people they have in charge of the operations do not give a rats arse about their customers and long as the money keeps rolling in.

Thankfully I switched to Verizon FIOS 6 years ago and have not had any problems since that time. Change your cable provider if you can.
