9-year-old becomes police chief for day

One 9-year-old cancer patient got to live out his dream and and protect his beloved Motor City. Jayvon Felton, 9, learned he had acute lymphoblastic leukemia last April, and while his treatments have been tough and he faces three years of chemotherapy, he's very hopeful about the future.

The Children's Hospital of Michigan with help from the Detroit Police Department made sure Felton was treated to a ride-along and helicopter ride as a part of his big day.

This is a beautiful story. I'm sickened to see the negative and would-be attempts at political posturing. Yes, there are bad people in the black community. Yes, there are bad people in the white community. Yes, there are good gay people and bad. With all people you take the good with the bad. A few bad apples don't spoil the juice . . .

All bets wishes for a speedy recovery and a wonderful life to Jayvon!

I meant 'best', but I think that's pretty obvious. I added that last line because the most important thing here s Jayvon and his health. Just concentrate on the positive, Jayvon, and you'll get better.

Just don't tell the poor kid quite yet about the police brutality and wide spread corruption.
