9-year-old becomes police chief for day

One 9-year-old cancer patient got to live out his dream and and protect his beloved Motor City. Jayvon Felton, 9, learned he had acute lymphoblastic leukemia last April, and while his treatments have been tough and he faces three years of chemotherapy, he's very hopeful about the future.

The Children's Hospital of Michigan with help from the Detroit Police Department made sure Felton was treated to a ride-along and helicopter ride as a part of his big day.

This is a wonderful gesture from the police department. What an adorable boy he is, and smart, too. Hopefully, there will be a cure very soon and he can get back to a normal type life. FYI, it is not unusual for police and fire departments to do this type of kindness for sick youngsters. I find it very satisfying and humble when I can read or watch heartwarming stories like this one. God Bless him and his family!

Prayers going out for you young man. All things are possible through Him. I pray for healing and that the cancer will go into remission and you will remain cancer free.
