AOL Spotlight: Beverly and Branton Sherman

AOL Spotlight: Beverly and Branton Sherman

Richard Sherman has been at the epicenter of the Super Bowl buzz, and AOL.com sat down with his mom, Beverly and brother/business partner Branton Sherman to chat about the journey to the Big Game.

Beverly and Branton both chimed in on the hottest topic - Richard's widely discussed interview with Erin Andrews after the NFC Championship game, where the Seahawks beat the 49ers to earn a trip to New York for Super Bowl XLVIII.

Both admitted it was simply "Richard being Richard" and an instance of in-game passion coming out on live TV - but what we go on to learn from both "Momma Sherman" and brother Branton is that it is this passion that led Richard to Stanford University on a football scholarship and on to the NFL Draft where he was selected by the Seattle Seahawks. This "chip on the shoulder" mentality started at an early age, when Richard was first told he was too young to play on the same team as his big brother Branton.

For the Sherman family - it is officially game time, with Beverly sporting her custom shoes made by fans from Seattle's famed "12th Man." Watch the video above for the full story.

He is no doubt a good football player. Seeing him play against SF showed that he was. The only thing about him is his mouth. I have seen other players run their mouth on how good they were, but, the difference is that these players were very good player and hall of fame contenters!! He is not and never will be unless he can get off the shi t and control himself!!! I will look forward to seeing how big that mouth is tomorrow night!!! The Broncos are not the 49ers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That passion they speak of is stupidity It's going to embarrass him on Superbowl 48 . After the Broncos beat the Seahawks (37 - 21) I hope Peyton goes up to Sherman and says " you mad , bro " ? That would be a classic moment :)

Typical closet racists. Go straight to race when someone of color is involved. Sure hope you're not raising children. Ever hear / read anything about hockey players or MMA fighters?

This is really going to sound racist but isn't meant that way. How many black hockey players are there in the NHL? One or two? I've never heard any of them bragging about how good they are. I've seen white football players pound their chests and bring attention to themselves too, so is this just a football thing?

Hey buddy read my post above. I am not a racist but that doesn't mean I don't like some whites, some blacks, some Hispanics, etc! I treat everyone the way I want to be treated but see that it DOESN'T happen!
