George Zimmerman stepping into the ring for 'celebrity' boxing match

George Zimmerman Stepping Into the Ring for Celebrity Boxing Match

Over the past few months we've learned about George Zimmerman's artistic side, but now he's planning to put down his paintbrush to prepare for a new role. HLN has the details.

'George Zimmerman has agreed to be part of a celebrity boxing match. That story's trending -- and so far, he has no opponent.'

In late January, TMZ first reported Zimmerman's plans to enter the ring.

When the issue of his opponent's race was brought up, celebrity boxing promoter Damon Feldman told the tabloid Zimmerman is willing to fight anyone.

Zimmerman told Radar Online the boxing match was all his idea.

'Boxing isn't new to me. It's something I had picked up well before the incident and it's something that I liked, I enjoyed and I kept up with it.'

WFTS reports the boxing match will take place March 1 and the profits will be donated to a charity, which has yet to be named.

Zimmerman did tell Radar Online he would love to fight someone who won't hurt him too badly ... like Papa Smurf, the Easter Bunny or the Michelin Man.

Z;immerman feels glorified by the incident where he end up killing this sixteen year old teenager that was beating him to a pulp. Now, he claiming he can can fight anyone. They found him innocent just like they found Simpson. Like Simpson he will wind up in jail for a few decades if he doesn't learn from the Simpson outcome whereby he continue acting like a jackass instead of keeping a low profile. Zimmerman, like Simpson, will wind up in jail. He really believe that he had the right to kill that teenager that beat him up. When I was young I fought many battles.
A few I won and others they make me see stars by my opponent's left hook or bolo punch. On both occassions we shook hands and forgot about it. Nobody has the right to take away another's life. I didnot considered Zimmerman was justified, he acted cowardly.

good point - they should make sure the fight doesnt occur in any state that has a "stand your ground" law

Would love to see one of the female MMA fighters take him to task

Because you don't get convicted for " not guilty".

I hope no one will come up and say they will fight him unless it is someone who will knock the **** out of him. Maybe he would not wake up from a beating and that would be great.

That's not what a jury of his peers determined. And in our culture, criminals, murderers, bank robbers have, for centuries, become celebrities. Get over it, Meghann.

Whoa!!!!! Enough already! It is the media that needs apparently some what they may call, "juicy" something to report. Zimmerman made the new: now stop giving him his time of "fame." Who cares, unless you are buying art, that he does art. Who really care if he is going to box someone in a ring. Enough! Move on! This is worn out news!
