NY congressman threatens reporter at Capitol

N.Y. Congressman To Reporter: 'I'll Break You In Half'

WASHINGTON (AP) - New York Rep. Michael Grimm is defending his actions after he physically threatened a reporter at the Capitol after President Barack Obama's State of the Union address.

The confrontation began Tuesday when Michael Scotto, a reporter for New York cable news station NY1, asked Grimm about a Justice Department investigation into his campaign finances.

After cutting the interview short, Grimm told Scotto, "You ever do that to me again I'll throw you off this (expletive) balcony." He also threatened to "break (Scotto) in half."

NY1 posted video of the incident on its website.

Grimm later issued a statement saying he was "extremely annoyed" with Scotto and doubted he was the "first member of Congress to tell off a reporter."

NY1 political director Bob Hardt demanded a "full apology" from Grimm.

the reporter was doing his job....his job was not to be dictated by the person he was interviewing what the topic would be...if this congressman did not want to answer questions he should not have stuck his face in front of a camera...this is not North Korea where our media is controlled by politicans!

If I did that to someone, would I be arrested for making threats? You would think that a Congressman would have more decorum and professionalism. He can be annoyed all he wants, and all he has to do is refuse to answer a question he does not like. That is what politicians do best, evade the answers to logical questions.

Lets look at why Grimm was pissed.... he is being investigated by the FIB for taking most of his campaign funding from an israely rabbi called Pinto.
Of course in israel they have put a gag order into any news regarding Grimm or Pinto, why ? is it that they do not want to public to know ?
And why is it that there is almost no news regarding this matter in the American media, is someone puting this news under the carpet, trying to keep us in the dark about the reality of politics and israel

Emotions aside, it wasn't very smart for an elected offial to threaten violence to a reported who asked a question that by Grimm's reaction sounds like the reporter may have hit a nerve. Now the whole country knows that he is being investigated for campaign finances. Although it might not have been as sexy as a threat, "No Comment" would have kept him off this page. Besides that, I want my politicians to have more self control over their emotional outbursts. It's just smarter...
