'Antiques Roadshow': Piece Of Movie History Abandoned In Bathroom Closet

'Antiques Roadshow' was in Detroit, and one man brought in a piece of movie history: an original script from 'The Wizard of Oz.'

The man's great-grandfather was Bert Lahr, aka the Cowardly Lion. The script had been hanging out in a bathroom closet for years, and eventually the man inherited it.

Appraiser Simeon Lipman said that 'Wizard of Oz' scripts are 'very, very desirable, because it is one of the most important films of all time, and still one of the most popular. As far as scripts belonging to members of the cast, it doesn't get much better than the Cowardly Lion, and here it is.'

The appraiser said it was one of the most remarkable scripts he had ever seen in person -- and though it had some wear and tear, it was still worth a whopping amount: $150,000. The man said that was a lot more than he was expecting.

The show's executive producer tells Michigan's Morning Sun the script was one of the most valuable antiques they saw while in Detroit.

My all time favorite movie. If I had the money I would want to buy it but I doubt the owner would want to sell it. They have to give it a value, but it is priceless.

Ditto Martha. My all time favorite. Loved it before college but then we would have Wizard of Oz parties the night it was on and get wild and crazy. But we all still know all the words to all the songs!
