'Price Is Right' contestant wins big, gets engaged

Price Is Right Contestant Wins Big, Gets Engaged

One ecstatic contestant on the 'The Price is Right' walked away with $36,000 in prizes -- but that's not the only reason she's going to remember her time on the show.

When Morgan became the final contestant, her boyfriend Nicholas came down on the stage and proposed.

Morgan wasn't the only one who was stunned: host Drew Carey practically had to pick his jaw up off the floor.

Morgan will return home not only as a bride-to-be, but also with a trip to Bora Bora and a Jeep.

We'd wish them luck -- but it seems like they already have it.

Seems an inappropriate time to propose though $36K is not really that much money these days.

What better way to make sure you get invited to Bora Bora AND possibly a jeep in the process, huh?

Doesn't anyone realize this is a setup - the people who go to the show set up their recorder so that if they are picked, they can scream and carry on like morons.

I can assure you that it was in no way set up. All game shows are closely monitored by the FCC to assure the public that all contestants have an equal opportunity at winning the prizes. This has been closely watched ever since the scandals in the 50's of several game shows that had rigged contestants. The boyfriend may have talked to a producer off stage, once the contestant was called to contestents row, or the guy might have mentioned it during the pre-interview that every one in attendence goes through, and that might have influenced who got an opportunity, but they would not risk setting a contestant up to win, just to get this proposal. Go to a taping once, and you'll realize the integrity of the show.

And just so you also know, all of the shows are taped, and then shown about a month later. That would leave plenty of time for a contestant to get home and set their recorders. I know, I did. And the only moronic behavior I displayed was not turning to the audience for their input when I played the game on stage. No matter, I still have great memories of the moment I won eighteen Christopher Radko Christmas ornaments, and I am reminded of the great time I had on Price is Right, every holiday season. Especially when I hang the Christmas Pickle on the tree.

I loved Bob Barker as the host, but I have to strongly disagree with your assessment of Drew Carey. I had gone to two tapings with Bob, and they were greatly enjoyable. But Drew is so much more involved with the audience. There is a genuine sincerity about the guy, which is plainly evident every time I watch the show. Bob was a little bit the devil, in the way he kind of coaxed people into taking chances, whereas Drew appears to really want to see people win. I loved his comedy act before, but I never thought he was going to be the right guy for TPIC, but I have been proven wrong. He's excellent.
