Tina Fey and Amy Poehler returned to host the Golden Globes for a second time, and they totally killed it in their opening monologue.

TIME said the ladies absolutely crushed it -- from their dresses to the jokes, it couldn't have been better.

The Hollywood Reporter agreed, loving that the jokes were, for the most part, friendly and not mean-spirited, as was the norm with past host Ricky Gervais.

... Well, they did say that Matt Damon was basically a 'garbage person' in a room full of very famous people, but even that went over well.

In case you missed it, here's the first few lines from the monologue. Check out the video above for even more gems.

TINA: 'Welcome to the 71st annual Tina Fey and Amy Poehler Lee Daniels' 'The Butler' Golden Globe awards.'
AMY: 'Thank you. A very good evening to everyone here in the room, and all the women and gay men watching at home.'
TINA: 'We are so happy to be back. We are hosting the Golden Globes for our second time. Thank you.'
AMY: 'Thank you.'
TINA: 'Because this is Hollywood, so if something kind of works, they'll just keep doing it until everybody hates it.'
